Title: Voodoo TV FM - Win XP Pro
Post by Vassili on 20.03.05 at 00:03:18
Hey,

I've got a Voodoo TV FM (Pal) and I am runnig Windows XP Pro.

I am installing the driver's as lecram25 said here(last post):
http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31

But I can't get it working;
This what I have done until now:

Quote:
First off, get http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/g/e/gec125/NuDrivers/vtvdrivers.zip

I've installed the vtv-w2k-beta1, vtv-w2k-beta2 and vtv-w2k-beta3, no difference.
(all the beta's came from the vtvdrivers.zip\vtvdrivers\voodootvBETA\2K map in the zip file)

Quote:
Then after intalling those drivers, restart, and then go to this http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/download.html and download the drivers; version 5.3.6 binaries.

I restarted my pc and installed 5.3.6 and (after uninstalling 5.3.6) I also tried the 5.3.8 - Also no difference, but maybe here's the reason why it doesn't work:
The instal autodetect's this card:

But I've always have set it to:

Is that wrong? If so, what are the correct settings?

Then I've also used DScaler Version 4.1.11—Beta— and Version 4.1.8—Superseded, but I think I haven't configurated that correct also.

Does anyone know the correct settings? I would be very pleased:)

This Driver and BTwincap is the right choice, and has worked for alot of people, thus I don't believe it is the source of the Problem.

Since I never used a VoodooTV FM, this is additionally what I found over at VoodooAlert :

* Install Driver :
http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/g/e/gec125/NuDrivers/vtvdrivers.zip

* Restart System

* Install http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/download.html
(version 5.3.6 binaries)

* Install Dscaler (alpha Version)
http://deinterlace.sourceforge.net/downloads.htm

-----------
That combination supposedly works.

Further Details how to proceed from someone that made it work :

- Downloaded & Unpacked Driver (see above)
- Use beta folder and choose "vtv-w2k-beta3"
- Install via Device Manager (ignore warnings and install for both Audio and Video Device)

- Reboot System

- Install other Software via Installer
(Option "Install/Uninstall other Driver for TV Card" -> choose Install new Drivers)
- Install DScaler

* initially Software reports "No Signal"
-> scan Channels (full frequency scan, takes a long time but works)

Set Audio via  CD-Audio (make sure it's not Muted by Windows Audio settings)

Ok I understand that, but which settings do I have to use for the WDM driver and DScaler?

Before I put the card into my system I wrote down al the numbers of the chips on it, there were 3:

Code:
conexant
Fusion 878A
25878-13
CC0210.3
0010 KOREA

On this one there is a smal Philips logo.

Code:
TDA9880T
151490
DnD002001

And at last

Code:
Micronas
MSP 34506 B6
0353 DB LC F
088481000

Now I think the Philips chip is the tuner, but which one out of the list?

Well, not many options.
Why don't you just test them all thee ?

Still, the failed AutoDetect might be an indication that the Driver does not work 100%.

Ok downloaded the new version of DScaler 4112 :), it didn't crash any more :D. But whatever tuner I select, it finds no Video Signal. ???
