They used a chip for it I guess. Alienware also worked on a dual V3 setup but they had to do some hardware modifications or so.

I think Banshee was capable, seeing as it was basically a V2 in one chip minus a TMU.

hmm about Alienwares Dual V# wasn't that nothing but a strange rumor? I personally never seen facts about that nor the card it's self.
