Title: similarly SLI technology on PCI Express
Post by jblue on 06.04.05 at 20:00:11
Alienware has developed a  technology that will allow
2 PCI Express video-cards  to work together in parallel mode (like the SLI techonlogy from 3dfx)
This technology will be able to use the Nvidia video-cards and also the ATI video-cards.The core of the technology will be an Intel chipset

The Alienware asserts that this technology will boost up   performance from 50 % to 90%.
Rhetorical Question:What can you do with 2 Radeon X800XT and this technology ?

Hmm, heard of NVidias SLI (not Scan Line Interleaving, it stands for Scalable Link Interface) or ATIs AFR (Alternative Frame Rendering)? ;) Basically the same direction, using two graphics cards for generating one output.

Does winxp recon the  video-card on Pci Express ?
What about Win88,or win2000 ?

The cards from the right will boost your video memory
at high fps and offer you a quality rendering.(Could be Nvidia or ATI ,I'am not sure)

Then  must be Nvidia.

lightrather !

btw: there are also other actual graphicchip manufacturers they use multichip design ;)

ATI responded with Crossfire

will be interesting,
although I feel ATI cards are powerful enough as a stand alone
rather then doubling the power that way,

they should concentrate on their R520 rather then compete with Nvidia

yeaps, my ASUS Ati Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition easily keeps up with a SLI set 6800 Ultra in FS 2004, on which that card performs best.

NV SLI also cost way too much cash so ATi has therefore still the upper hand in the price performance sector onwhich is in my opinion the most important sector.

AHHHHH nVidiot cards and 3Dfx cards in the same system!!!!! That's like putting an intel chip in a mac!! oh, wait a second they decided to do that now.. STILL, that is just wrong!!!

more like, idk something very very bad
