It seems the current YaBB installation has or had a nasty bug that will prevent new PMs from being displayed correctly.

I apparently already missed a few due to that bug (sorry folks), so at this time I can only advise to regularly clean your PM folders and manually check on them.

If you ever see something like "Good evening, [your Username], you have xx Messages, -1 are new" - it means you got the bug.

Workaround :
If no new message is visible in your PM folder, delete an older one. That apparently temporarily fixes the PM count and the new PM becomes visible.
