Title: v2 sli interlacing
Post by outlaw on 23.04.07 at 19:59:31
ok here is a problem I facing,

in sli mode with v2s I have in some case high image interlacing. The strange thing is that it doesn't appear in all cases and games. it is very clear in 3dmark 99 (1024x768, dx api) fifa99 (1024x768, glide api), RallyMasters (1024x768, dx api) but not visible in other games in same resolutions in both apis. First I thought it was the mismatching thing (2 non identical v2s with different ram timings like a dragon II and a creative) but even now that I have 2 orchids (identical to the bone) I keep see this annoying effect. Drivers are amiga merlin's l8st. Any ideas?

Is vsync disabled? If yes: enable it.

With Q3D-100SB I had SLI-Problems. They were gone after disabling BIOS-, System-, Video- etc. -Cachings.
Perhaps this can help  ???

This also happens on my V2 SLI set with the latest FastVoodooXP Gold drivers. ::)

I've put my V2 SLI set away now, but if I remember correctly, it's something to do with the registry settings for the V2 cards. :P

Both to do with RAM timing and "Primary/Secondary" SLI card selection... :P

Most V2 drivers NOW set the ram timing to 100Mhz or more - but it SHOULD be set to 90MHz to avoid "interlacing"...at least that was how I fixed it ages ago... :-/

I had a program (somewhere) that could tweak all this stuff to fix the issue, but I don't know where I left it... ???

@paulpsomiadis:

do you mean this:

5. Install the 3dfx Reference Drivers as describe in the 3dfx readme file.

If you experience display anomalies (corrupted images, purple colors) with the 3dfx Reference drivers, use the following Reg file for the Obsidian2 adapter to resolve these problems. In addition, after uninstalling the 3dfx reference drivers make sure to remove the registry entries as well which were made during installation.

the reg file mentioned above:
