Title: Canopus Pure 3D Loopcable
Post by P200 on 20.12.11 at 21:38:39
Hi everybody,

Recently I bougth a Canopus Pure3D, nice card (thanks edmundoab) BUT... It doesn't have the loopcable.

Tried using Wizmark for testing functionality, and works OK. I guess that if works under Wizmark, at least it's working fine, right?

Well, I was looking all over Google for the damned cable hahaha some tutorial for DIY cable, some guy selling his loopcable, but nothing found yet :(

Is there any Pinout for this cable? Note that is a 9-pin cable, very similar but no exactly as a Svideo cable. No chance to get the cable in normal Radioshack tought  :-/

In the other way, I don't know if it's possible to get TV Out using reference drivers, or is possible only using the Canopus drivers?

Help!!! Thanks in advance,
Renato.

I am guessing the mini din connector uses signals like old 9pin vga connectors.
If I find the cable I can try to measure the exact pinout and post it later.

Thema, that's simply AWESOME  :D

Yeah, the miro Hiscore it's the european version of the Canopus, so it should be the same connector and therefore the same pinout.

So, i'm gonna search the damned connector on my local electronic store, or in other case, tryin to make a stable connection.

BTW, yesterday I managed to make it run with two monitors, but as I were using a LCD, the refresh rate weren't addequate and it showed up a popup warning all the time.

Seems that it's imperative yo use a CRT for the Voodoo1 cards.

I have used LCD's for years without problem.

It depends a lot on the LCD. I had a few LCD that looked very bad if they go signal for V2 - it looked like 4 bit. But I also had LCDs that looks good. Anyway, I don't think there are LCDs with native resolution 640x480 and downscaling image will never look perfect, especially when the source is analog.

Exactly, that´s the point. I was using a Samsung LCD monitor, and luckily got signal but with the warning in the middle of the screen. Then, tried with an AOC and a LG, none of them had signal whatsoever with my V1 or V2.

Later that day tried my old trusted Samsung CRT, and voilá, it showed everything.

So, my personal lesson: never throw the CRT to the garbage while my V1s and V2s still works!

PD: Is the Pure3D connector easy to find in a local electronic store? Or it's some kind of Canopus propietary design?

Thanks guys, you're awesome!  :)

I have a spare loop back cable I can sell from a dead card.  I'll check my stash when I get off work in a few hours.

It looks like I must have sold it with the dead card last year.  I'd go for the auction that razrx pointed out since that is an awesome price.

yes, the auction prize is very, very nice! But, the sellers asks over US$50 ONLY IN SHIPPING  :(

For this time, I'll pass. It's too much, only for the shipment I think
