the idea is nice but 15US dollars is too expensive, because they arn't original 3dfx ;)
I'd say @ least 7 dollars per mat or so, otherwise the shipping would make it too expensive for overseas orders. |
Title: Re: Making 3Dfx mousepads Post by comptech_69 on 13.01.06 at 19:16:34
So I would be paying about -$7 per mouse pad depending on the shipping. That makes no sence ???

If you're really going through with this (making and selling) then please add the words 'none original' to them. That way there's no confusion with the original ones.

It's starting to look interesting here ;D
I'd say these three are good candidates Quote:
But I'm missing my favourite face :-/ the green from the V4 4500 US box |

I was definately going to add to the auction listing that these were not endorsed by 3Dfx...
I was going to use the V4 4500 face, but I didn't think there would be much interst in it... I take it that there is? EDIT: Added the first pic, becuase I accidently put it on my desktop |

Well this one should do, I like it more than the euro box because here it's the whole face.
btw u could add some old stuff too, I see only post stb stuff in the list. |

I tried to use that one but it cuts off the tag which sucks. That's why some of the mousepads are only part of the picture because it cuts off most of the text and than with only part of the text it looks retarded. Makes me sad beucase I really wanted to to that V6K one becuase I too thought it would look badass.
I haven't added any older things beucase these are the only backgrounds that looked good on the pads. If you want to submit any pictures to me to play with to get on there just stick some in theis thread and I'll see what I can do. I'm going to add that V4 4500 on a little later on, the wife wants to go to wal-mart and I'm getting dragged with ::) |

That top one was made with a filter in photoshop... I love that filter it makes badass pictures!
Talking about photoshop, I made a 3Dfx hat a little while back and was just going to make another in a few minutes. I think I might end up "mass"-producing these also. I'm like getting hardcore into recreating 3Dfx things lately. Peobably becuase I've been staring at my heatsinkless V5 5500 on my desk for a few weeks now waiting to find supercheap sutable heatsinks for it pending it's re-install back into my system ;D But here is a pic I just edited in photoshop for the occasion: It's a smal-res pic to fit on a hat, but i'm thinking about doing it hi-res for a background, anyone interested? |

yeah looks very cool, maybe adding abit more orange to the glare, just to give the effect of a sunflare or so :)

Just noticed I forgot to add that mousepad, it's now in the origional list (2nd one from top). obi: I shall do that ;) EDIT 2: I couldn't get it to look right :( |

That looks very beautiful, do you have it in a bigger resolution like 1600x1200? And do you allow that I can add your wallpaper to the 3dfx.ch-gallery? ;) |

*bumb*
Added 4 requests in the oriional post :) Anyone want my $hittay hats? lol The plain 3dfx interactve one I'm keeping cuz I wear to it work.. My boss asked me one day, "What's a 3Dfx?" I just kinda laughed and stated a computer company becuase it's the easiest way to explain something to stupid people! ;D |
Title: Re: Making 3Dfx mousepads w/ Pics *UPDATED* Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 20.01.06 at 02:45:18
hmm they look kewl :D those 3dfx labels or how you would call them hehe are they pieces of " printed Cloth" sown on the hats, or did you iron the pict with tracing paper into the hat's matierial it's self?

Title: Re: Making 3Dfx mousepads w/ Pics *UPDATED* Post by comptech_69 on 20.01.06 at 07:14:49
It's this tshirt making stuff that I bought a while back, it's really expensive but supreawesome for making shirts! I tried it on the hats and I didn't think it came out too well beucase it's kinda hard to do it on anything but a flat surface becuase they werent designed for non-flat surfaces. It's like this thermal label that you print out IDK how to explain it, it's wierd. I think it would look better with the light transfer paper and the light brown hats. I bought a bunch of hats to experiment with :)

Well I don't think the hats look all that bad, although I do like just the 3dfx interactive one better. For a hat, the rest are..... to busy I guess. The Interactive one just throws 3dfx in people's face. I like it. The mouse pads I think are cool idea and a 15 dollar price tag isn't that bad considering that Best Buy as them with flowers and misc crap for the same price. Once I get a little more solid as far as finances go (meaning once I get a new job :P) I'll probably get one from you. If your making shirts that's cool too. I'd like to see 3dfx shirts circulating again and I'll probably pick one of those up at some point. Out the pics you posted originally, I think the 2nd and 4th pics with the 3dfx logos look the best for pads and going on a black shirt should look pretty cool.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in. It's kind of cool having someone to be able to do this kind of stuff again. |

Started selling them on eBay, here's the link (posted for general information only):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8767721661 If anyone here wants them, it will be $15 total for all US orders. Overseas orders will be $15 + shipping (because I'mnot too sure how expensive it will be to ship overseas, this might change with first overseas transaction) Custom orders always welcome! ;) |
