Title: AA doesnt work in Glide :(
Post by elfuego on 24.05.09 at 02:25:40
At first I had troubles running NFS4:HS on V5 5500 AGP, but now I seem to have better view of the problem. Its not the game itself, its Voodoo. Anti aliasing doesnt work in Glide mode. I am using 3dhq drivers which have been awesome so far, but there might be a driver conflict between them and V3 3500  official driver, since I'm hot-swapping them according to my prefferences.

I'm running Win 98. Tried Glide AA in UT99, NFS2SE, NFS3, NFS4:HS and it doesnt work. Every other setting(mip mapping, LOD...)
from 3dhq drivers works.

Any ideas on how to return AA to glide (without reinstalling windows)? :)

Make sure all the voodoo 3 stuff is wiped and then reinstall the v5. I had a similar problem with hot swapping a v2 and v5, resolutions above 1024x768 wouldnt work, not sure if AA worked or not.. but in theory if you set AA with V.Control it should work, as it controls the hardware rather than registry entries.

try using set FX_GLIDE_AA_SAMPLE=4 via batch file.

Good idea. Will try it.

BTW, one more issue that supports the claim of mixed up drivers: when I select force 32bit rendering I get a garbled picture when any game (inclusive UT99) starts.

Anyway, if this doesnt help, I guess I will have to wipe the V3 drivers clean  :'(
