Hello all,

what I remember is that AMD did make an AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1500Mhz  and not an OC'ed 1400 but a true 1500Mhz Athlon Thunderbird, does anyone know if this was has been put into production? because I do remember it clearly, and my colledues at work even recall by selling 3 of them in the past.

It may sound alittle odd but I am not confused with the AthlonXP 1500+ .

I did find this on the Internet about a 1500Mhz Thinderbird  but I'm not sure if it is one:

DURON exists as:

   * Spitfire , 0,18 µ, 600-950 Mhz

ATHLON exists as:

   * Thunderbird , 0,18 µ,650 - 1500 Mhz (Athlon B from 1 Ghz)

As I already told, the AMD Athlon 1500MHz 'Thunderbird' does not exist.

The Athlon 1500 CPU you showed in this link is not an AMD Athlon. It's an AMD Athlon XP Mobile Balanced Processor.
The OPN tells what kind of CPU it is. AXMS is the mobile CPU. The Balanced CPU has 256KB L2 cache and only a 100MHz FSB (Normal AMD Athlon XP's use an 133MHz FSB or higher). The vCore is 1,3V so it won't produce much heat  :)

When looking at the CPU picture it's clearly visible that we're dealing with an AMD Athlon XP 'Thoroughbred' CPU. All AMD Athlon 'Thunderbird' CPU's we're ceramic, not organic like the 'Thoroughbred' CPU's  :)

Yes, there we're rumours about the AMD Athlon 1500MHz. Did it come or did AMD release the AMD Athlon XP in time ?
All questions, someday, even an AMD Duron XP 1500+ popped up, of course it was fake*, just like the AMD Athlon 1500  ::)

When 'googling' I see only overclocked AMD Athlon's. Some 1500MHz models for benchmarking, just overclocked AMD Athlon 1400's. thisshows an AMD Athlon 1500. It's just an overclocked AMD Athlon. Probably an 1333MHz (FSB to 150) or an overclocked 1400 since much of the 1400's we're multiplier unlocked.

That string is a mobile CPU, not a desktop-CPU. If it was a "normal" Thunderbird it would have a simple A instead of the AXMS (the X determines it is an Athlon XP).

There is a 1500Mhz Thunderbird I just know for sure, thye have told to be rare, but if people don't believe me, then it is hard for me to explain. Maybe ofsome one else told you would of believed them :-/

And I am very sure have seen 3 of them in my life at the Computer store where I regulary help out, we don't lie to our customers so why would I lie here. Maybe it is that you only believe in things that allready are and things that not might but are sure to exsist.

I think that's no question that there were plans of a higher clocked Thunderbird but the 1.4 GHz Thunderbird has been such a heater that a 1.5 GHz Thunderbird would have to be cooled with extreme appliances so AMD canceled that CPU.

hmm mkay, wierd then these 1.5 Ghz Athons I seen were Athlon4 CPU's as is hard for me to memorise ..... they did run at a clear standard speed of 1.5Ghz which is 1500Mhz and If I can remember the Athlon4 was the Thunderbird for laptops though i could of been a 1500Mhz Athlon4 but I can't recall that, which troubles me still.

Any it was a long time ago but I do remember the Athlon Thunderbird 1500Mhz it's still fresh in my mind.

I 100% sure you didn't saw an AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 1500MHz.
It either was an overclocked CPU or even not an AMD Athlon(tm) at all.

Information is hard to trace since the CPU does not exist.

The AMD Athlon 4 is AMD's first AMD Palomino CPU. It's exactly the same as the AMD Athlon XP but the Athlon 4 was used for mobile computing and could use PowerNow! by default.

1500MHz Thunderbirds in notebooks would be the most riducilous thing in computer history since it would've had a TDP of 78W. In other words : The accu in the notebook would have been useless. (Not to mention the extreme heat it would cause, it would fry your balls :o)

And about believing it's true or not : You told me I wouldn't believe you.... let's turn that upside down : Why dont you believe me ?  ;D

I have 400% that it does ;) I have had seen 3 of these things myself, but you must do what is best of course, I can't control your mind.

If you call proof rumours yeah then everyone would say it would be hard to believe.... ::)
