What is the latest date you have seen on a 3dfx powered board?

Hehe... At least that 16MB Daytonas are week 45... Maybe they were the last ones.
I personally have two week 40 2k cards: Powercolor's Evilking 3, one 166/TV, one 183 MHz. Also should check date on Powercolor 4 4500TV board - sticker is placed over it... It is obviously seen that they are 00, week 4x ("x" is under sticker) ;) Interesting, that stickers on all my Powercolors have "2001" markings on 'em... I believe that last 3dfx cards sold to open market were Powercolor's V3 and V4. Possibly, Powercolor made enough boards for them and then produce cards until they had 3dfx chips... If anyone is interested, I may ask my contact in Powercolor for information regarding their 3dfx-based products (hope they have some sort of internal archive;)). Hmm... I like this idea, by the way :) So, what can we try to get from Powercolor? I can imagine asking for data regarding quantity of produced cards under own brand and possibly as OEM, and mentioned before - dates of production... @Gary Oh... This is that Supertek (or something similar) branded V3 2000? OEM-manufactured by Powercolor, i presume? Congrats on grabbing full retail version! |

Supertek VD3, V3-3000-16 (not a powercolor card) *2001* PCB date. I have an extra boxed card for trade if anyone is looking for one. |

Oh, yes I see "3000" on bigger picture :)
But card looks very similar to Powercolor V3-2000. Check this Oscar's pic: http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/album20/DSCF1670 Possibly, Powercolor (which is an actual PCB manufacturer and still a serious player on OEM-orders market) produced cards for Supertek based on their V3-2000 design but with faster RAM and V3-3000 chip. Which RAM is installed, btw? The most funny thing is a brand name. Last time I've heard about Supertek company (not sure if the same company, but exactly the same name) they supplied Formula 1 engines under someone's licence ;) Will do a quick search now ;) |

Oops, my mistake... F1 engines were Supertec, not Supertek. If I do remember correctly, they were 'OEM' from Renault;).. Lol, anyway funny fact. Even with one letter misspelling...

I think we need to make something clear here;
What does the topicstarter mean with "Latest 3dfx card date" ? The latest date on the graphics chip or the latest date on the PCB? When it comes to the chip I guess it's either Daytona or Rampage (I read somewhere Daytona should have been ready for mass shipping in January 2001). When it comes to the PCB I would have no idea. I've heard of Voodoo II's from the year 2000 so who knows, maybe some company made a Voodoo in 2003 :P |

1) Looks like but has a different PCB if you look close, compare below. 2) So far all the Powercolor V3 cards I have seen have been 166mhz cards with 5, 5.5 & 6 ns ram. They did make 183 mhz cards too. As you can see, the cards are very different. Powercolor version 1 Powercolor version 2 VD3, 6ns ram. |

I have Daytonas here dated 4600- The VD3 has them all beat as one is dated 1501 and the other is dated 1901. Just think- After 3dx closed their doors someone was still making new Voodoo 3 cards. How strange. |

I suppose it was an old Vetran that couldn't leave his job makeing them, but indeed strange it maybe is, but maybe there were so many Voodoo3 chips, that some companies carried on by emptying thier stock.
