Title: Max Payne & Original 3dfx drivers
Post by Micha on 11.11.03 at 12:14:53
I'm using original 3dfx win2000 voodoo5 drivers on win2000 + sp4. when playing max payne I get garbage on screen when playing (not in the game menu, only video and gameplay). i've some likely looking failures in ut2k3 and as i know this problem is solved by the amigamerlin 3.0 drivers i want to know wether the amigamerlin can handle that problem in other games...if not, what to do?  ???
spider-man has also issues -> ms windows bluescreen when starting the game..  :P

Max Payne worked fine in Win98se with the last X3dfx 1.07 drivers, unsure for Win2k.
As for spiderman, I thought u needed a HW TnL card.... Have u tried using 3d analyze?

nop, but the spider-man case seems to be clear...also if it doesn't looks like a hw T&L game it just needs this feature ;D
well, haven't tried max payne 2 yet, but should be the same problem as it probably runs on the same engine..so it might be this sticky problem which also appears in ut2003...but haven't decided yet to install x3dfx or amigamerlin drivers, 'cause my system runs fine at the moment (accept this f@#%ing issue)
beside, it seems that this problem only appears on hardware T&L games which have software T&L support..  ??? so it's just a driver problem, i bet.

Tried Max Payne 1 again and it runs now  ::)
well, maybe it was just an overclocking problem  ;D
