The seller just got back to me (I ask detailed questions AFTER the hardware is in hand, hehe!)

Seller confirms both pieces (the 5500 and Voodoo II set) were direct from 3dfx as part of a 3dfx SDK package, seperate ones of course. The seller worked for a company that developed hardware drivers related to Glide API and their own physical hardware.

BTW Gary That Voodoo 5 5500 AGP is a Rev.A0 1500 not 1400 Wink

look at the PCB date behind the Backplate on the card's rearside Wink

I can clearly read 1500 not 1400 Wink

PCB Date 1500 is printed in white:

And another thing on the top of the card just behind the Rev.A0 inprint just behind the left cooler, the U0 chip is missing!

another small thing is that the tail part of the AGP connector is yellow and not green like on the production cards

A sad follow up to the 2 cards shown above- I inquired with the supplier if they knew anyone else with SDK boards and this was the reply.

Sorry to say, a lot of boards were tossed when 3DFX announced their closure. I can remember people throwing out engineering cards, and due to NDA's, weren't allowed to take them home.

Throwing... them... away...eek!
