I sense it will work with any card, what about the AGP x8 cards like the X800XT PE AGP and X850XT PE AGP, will they fit in the adapter also?

Cause then we don't have to upgrade to PCI-Express while we still have those cards Smiley

And maybe AGP to PCI Express convertors might be possible also, to build then Wink

I doubt modern agp8x cards will work.the aim is to get agp 3.3V 3dfx cards running.modern cards would probably be possible as well, but this would require additional R&D,and we dont want this baby to cost several hundred dollars Wink

okay that I understand, but for speacial order, would it be possible?

heh it save alot of people money also. anyway it's cool for the 3.3volt users, but i possibly think there are more users in the world that use 1.5 volt AGP cards, so maybe a universal AGP to PCI ada[ter would be a better sollution so that 3.3 volt & 1.5 volt cards can be used.

well, technically, the agp slot on the AGP.5 (the official name of the adaptor) is universal.but many cards will not work correctly,as the video card drivers have sometimes problems recognizing the card when using the adaptor.riva TNT2 ran only in VGA mode for example..

Albatron introduced the ATOP (AGP8x to PCIe Bridge Card) in late may, it was told that the adaptor will be available in august.
Cards with AGP8x with an adaptor into a PCI-slot is a very bad idea even if it worked technically because the PCI-bus cuts the power of the modern cards dramatically.

Hmm, until now the compatibility-list shows only NVidia-cards, that's right, but I don't think that this adaptor generates signals which can be only understood by NVidia-cards.
AGP8x is a standard, I don't think there are any special signals which makes the adaptor NVidia-only.

well the difference between PCI 32Bit and AGP x4 is only a margin of 5%, and PCI and AGP x8 has a a small margin of 7%, so it's harly noticable really Smiley So why not.
