Time to mix it up a little around here.  I ended up with an extra low-profile mATX case and then....well....idle hands are the Devil's workshop Smiley    The end result is a one-of-a-kind low-profile Voodoo 4 HTPC connected to my 52" Sony LCD TV (via VGA port) for big screen 3Dfx gaming Grin

- Windows XP Pro
- PIII 1.4ghz Tualatin
- Gigibyte mATX Mobo (Intel 815 chipset)
- 512 mb PC133 SDRAM
- Evilking Voodoo 4 4500 L-shaped card (w/XFX low-profile bracket)
- Rosewell SATAI controller card
- Soyo USB 2.0 expansion card
- 160 GB SATA HD
- ASUS SATA DVD-RW
- Ydata 3.5" Floppy Drive/Card reader

Very nice home theater setup!

I'm still running a Shuttle SFF PC for a HTPC, just could not find a HTPC case that had what I was looking for.

Very nice Sigtau!  I like your setup.  Smiley

@gdonovan - Have you seeng the Silverstone lineup of HTPC cases?  They are sweet.  Also, Coolermaster has some nice ones too.  I am in the process of building an HTPC with a Coolermaster CM Media 282 case.

Thanks for the compliments guys.  It was a fun little project and ended up being a pretty cool rig for Glide gaming.

My real HTPC is on the lower left side of the photo.  I searched high and low for a good HTPC case that didn't look like a cheap POS.  I ended up dropping $460 on the Thermaltake DH102 case w/7" touch screen.  The screen acts like a second monitor.  It's a really nice looking case from the front and fits in very well with the rest of the AV gear I have.  It's basically a $65 case with a $400 face on it.  It's also the same width as normal AV equipment and it still allows a full ATX mobo to fit...barely.  The case is very tight and I'm just finally getting the cooling set up right with it.  To save cash, I ended up transplanting my main PC guts into this case.  I'm running a Quad Core 2 Duo 2.4 ghz (OC @ 3.0 ghz), nvidia 8800GTX, WD Velocirapter 300 GB, etc, etc in there and the temps are OK.  Everything is running a little warmer than when I had the same parts in my Coolermaster CM690 case.

Any chance you can slap a Voodoo5 5500 PCI in there and do some gaming benchmarks?  Cheesy

Some nice cases, just not in the budget.

Really, $300-$400 for a fancy desktop case? Ouch!

I did just pickup a small desktop case that just might do the job, have to do a bit more research though. The Shuttle SFF system I'm using now works fine, just a matter of esthetics.

Having enough CPU power to decode HDDVD or BR would be nice though...

Watch the snarky comments gents, I'll not have the thread reduced to a flame fest. again.
