Title: My new 3dfx rig Post by OutOfRange on 02.03.08 at 22:51:34
Hello out there :)
due to the fact, that it was cloudy, raining, grey and very cold the whole weekend I found some time to set up my new 3dfx retrogaming rig 8-) Short time ago, I found a Dual PIII 600 set with ASUS P2B-DS Mobo, 384 MB matching RAM and onboard SCSI with a 18 GB HDD for a few bucks ::) so I only needed a case, a powersupply and some small stuff. Thanks to my luck I also found a brand new (sealed !) SoundBlaster AWE32 CT2670, the perfect card for my project (I really adore the AWE32 cause same as 3dfx it reminds me of a good old time with my computers). So here it is, my new 3dfx gaming rig: - Dual PIII 600 MHz Slot 1 - ASUS P2B-DS - 3x128 MB SD-RAM - Onboard SCSI with SCSI Ultra2 LVD IBM HDD - Canopus Spectra 2500 AGP Primary Display Card - Pair of Canopus Pure 3D II Cards as SLI --> Running Witchdoctor over the external connector, cause I had some problems with the internal one and SLI :-/ but with the external it runs fine ;) Actually running Windows 98 SP2 (I only have Witchdoctor drivers for Win9x). Additional: The AWE32, a cheap NIC and a DVD and Floppydrive. Actually everything just runs very fine, had NFS2SE and POD2.1 up and running. But sadly I'm leaving home tommorow for two weeks (have to join one of our customers for two weeks :( ) I'm actually looking for the internal CD-Audio Cable from the drive to the Soundcard, cause the one out of the box has the wrong connector for the drive. There will also be a new tribute movie comin up in the next time ;) So let me know any ideas and suggestions about all that. |
