Title: Interstate 76 3dfx Support?
Post by TM30 on 30.12.05 at 02:07:29
I currently play Interstate 76 with a V5 5500... i wonder if it has 3dfx support because currently it looks like software mode... have no clue where to set it...

i know that the addon nitro riders has 3dfx support but the does the original game has it too? patch perhaps?

"The graphics for Interstate '76 are excellent. The colors are vivid and there is an incredible amount of detail. The games is optimized for 3Dfx and Rendition, but will run under Direct 3D as well. "

Just a snip from the 4th paragraph...

I have the nitro pack and it directly supports voodoo cards and looks badass :)

Admin edit: Something a bit more modest for a sig picture please.

hmmm it looks strange, the mountains and hills left and right of the road pop up strangely when i drive across them... the hills seem to be in motion, and just when i drive near them they change the formation of the texture...

hmm but when i start the game i only can select Fullscreen or window... and in the graphic options i can choose the resolution and game details... but no switch for the API...

you need the nitro pack for 3dfx support.

I believe the answer to your question is here:

https://activision.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/activision.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=yg4axMQg&p_lva=&p_faqid=10962&p_created=1055534370

Of course, if you are using a non-North American version, there may be another version of the patch for you.

Good luck.

I use this sig on like 5 different forums so If i changed it it would affect the spaging of my sig on all my other forums  :(

And it's like the 3rd time I modded it because the administrator aparently dosnt like girls  :D

1) What happens in other forums is of no concern here.

2) How I feel doesn't come into play- What other members of the forum think and the rules of the forum do.

I have a copy of the original game, and I applied the Gold Update.  In the original version, you have to choose between Normal and Windowed mode at startup (both are software modes).  After applying the Gold Update, your choices at startup will include Normal, Windowed, and a number of different hardware 3D renderers, including D3D, 3dfx, Rendition, etc.

I am using Win98 SE.  You might look at this:

It isn't obvious to me what this guy did to get the patch to work (or if he did get it to work).  I would suggest you pursue this at VOGONS if you can't find help here.  Sorry.

Well, 920x180 is just too wide and can cause problems with the Forum Template in Resultions less than 1280x1024.

I don't have any problems with its content, just the size (width) needs to be trimmed, it's plain too much.
