@PS47 - Do you remember what motherboard was or motherboard manufacturer was?  I'll steer clear of those boards.

pcchips m810.steering away is what you should do.

Ok will do.  Smiley

I just won an auction for an Epox EP-8KTA3+Pro motherboard.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250299515210&ssPageName=...

I think I have a 1400 MHz Athlon @ 100 MHz laying around......  I will try that first.

The board supports AthlonXP-M chips on 266 MHz bus, so I will get that later if the 1400 MHz chip works out.

I love that Board. PC Chips M810LMR What a son-of-a-bitch. I had it running in that configuration:

AMD Duron (Morgan) 1000 @ 1333
256MB PC133 SDRAM
Onboard VGA @ 64MB Shared Memory.

The Best thing was: It was not able to run the Techdemo in a acceptable way.

No Kyro II ist working on that Board.
No 3dfx based AGP cards.
Almost no ATI Cards.

Just GeForces.

Anyways:
The latest Board I was running a Voodoo 1 in was a i440BX Pentium III Chipset.

LOL!!!!!   Grin

That PCCHIPS board is fussy!!!!  Tongue

BTW, is PCCHIPS also ASROCK???  they seem to both have the same model #.   Anyways, I Googled the board as I was curious about it now...

Verdict:
So I went here:  http://pcchipsusa.com/prod-m810lmr.asp

and the board didn't look too bad... but I think I will stick with the EPoX.

They even posted a video card compatability chart.... LOL

Model Chipset        Memory        Manufacture
3D Blaster GeForce      32M      Creative CT6940
ATI PERMEDIA2      8M      WinFast 3D L2300
GeForce 256      32M      ASUS V6600
GeForce 2 MX      32M      ASUS AGP-V7100
GeForce 2 GTS DDR      32M      ASUS AGP-7700D
GeForce 2 GTS DDR      32M      ELSA GLADIAC
GeForce 2 GTS      32M      WinFast
GeForce 2 MX      32M      WinFast
Matrox Productive G100      8M      Matrox
Matrox Millennium G200      8M      TAGRAM
NVIDIA GeForce 256      32M      Creative CT6970
NVIDIA GeForce 256 DDR      32M      ASUS V6800
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Vanta      32M      Top Solution
RIVA TNT2 M64      16M      Pixel View
RIVA TNT      16M      WinFast 3D S320
RIVA TNT2      32M      ASUS AGP-V3800
RIVA TNT2      32M      Creative CT6810

You're right about the almost exclusive nVidia video card compatability.  Jeez, it's almost like today's SLI/Crossfire boards.... you can only go with either ATI OR nVidia....

I can't wait until the new X58 boards come out!!!!  they're supposed to be Crossfire & SLI compatable.
