Title: driver help
Post by bucksavage on 12.08.12 at 08:12:06
I am on a new machine now, P4 530J @3ghz, 1gb ram, 500gb hd, 128mb radeon 9200 series.

I wanted to check the motherboard and that for upgrades or updated drivers, but so far the places I found are useless.

Help anyone?  the motherboard is an ASUSTek p5p800 and the chipset is an Intel i845PE.

Did you check the asus page ?
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5P800/#download

Chipset driver is here :
ftp://europe.asrock.com/drivers/Intel/INF/INF_XP64_XP_2K(7.0.0.1025).zip

Did you see a 32bit Xp version of the chipset driver?  I use 32 bit Win XP

Thanks for the sites!

the chipset driver is a ftp, is there a site for it so I can check to see if they have a WinXP32bit version?

EDIT:  Sorry, the chipset is Intel i865PE, not 845.

On the first link Rolo gave you "WinXP" is the 32 bit driver ("WinXP 64bit" is the 64bit driver).

For chipset drivers, I think it's "Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility V5.02.1003." in the Utilities category.

The link to the asrock ftp is for XP-32bit.

Ok thanks!  One other thing:  I'm also lookign for drivers for the southbridge, 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) LPC Interface Bridge.

Those should be part of the chipset drivers.
Did you try to install them ?

Really?  Ok cool.  But, does that incluse other things, like the Ultra ATA controller?  I didn't thn so, because I just checked using Windows Update and it found a driver newer than the one I had.
