Title: Just got me 2 3dfx Cards

1x Diamond Monster Voodoo1
Nothing special here...

But also :
1x Voodoo4 4500 PCI

I've never had any Voodoo3,4 or 5 PCI card, so that's going to be my first one :)

Greetings

Oh, I have to correct that.

It's an AGP Version, as I just re-read ::)

Anyway, I made a good deal :)
Strange though, that no all provisions for RAM-Chips are used; but it's said to have 32MB (?)

I have to wait until it arrives here, so I can test it...

The Diamond Monster 3D was my first 3D card.  I'd only seen 2D visuals and software rendering up to then.  I'd been playing Quake (original) in DOS software mode for some months.  And then I bought and installed the Diamond Monster and ran GLQuake.  The world moved.

No step in computer visuals before or since has been so momentous.  The switch from nowhere to a fully 3D rendered environment.  The switch from a fuzzy approximation to a crisp fully-realised 3D rendered world.  ;D

I loved that Monster 3D.  I gave it away to some one who doesn't appreciate it.  I only hope I can claim it back someday.  It's a classic.

;)

Well, of course I know...

Only reason I was saying that, was that I already have a Voodoo1 :)

But anyway, good thing about all Voodoo1/2's is, that those should serve very well even besides a way more modern AGP card; that makes them somewhat 'immortal' :)...

I must agree though, seeing those loads of Voodoo1's and Voodoo2 being sold for almost a dime by the dozens, makes me feel a bit sad :-/
I often think they deserve better than that.

I for sure will not forget my first steps in GLquake on my Diamond Monster, or seeing Unreal I on a Creative Labs Voodoo2 SLI Rig ;D
