Where do you put the extra-long length of fan cord now?
Do you know what the temps were like before and after this mod?
How does the noise compare to the stock HSFs?
1) I binded it together, pulled through the back side of the motherboard holder-plate and plugged them into a 12V connector. That way it doesnt really stand in the way of air-flow.
2)Unfortunately, I have no clue about the temperatures. I got the card without the stock HSFs attached and I disliked the idea of reattaching them "just for the kicks"
3) Compared to the V5 5500 w/stock cooling I have back home on Balkans, this one is noisier. Unfortunately, what RaverX said was true - these two coolers are indeed a bit louder then they should be. Of course, its not *that* bad, but I'm spoiled. I turned off every other cooler in the retro-system - i used only heatsinks for the components that need cooling and I also use a silent PSU... so V5 can really be heard.
Thats why I'm thinking of arming my retro rig with a passive V3 3500 instead.
