A few years ago I came across a website for something called EAR Interactive Around-Sound which was designed to give 3D sound support to Quake 2, Battlezone, and Heavy Gear 2.  The page had the following text at the top:

you're right about the last 2 sites, and the 1^st link works fine..just a little bit slow, maybe a server thingie..
