maybe it is possible to bench a normal 5500 pci and a 5500 agp @ pci...so we can compare the evolution of the agp2pci-process...

hmm good idea Chosen_One yeah that would be a better way to see what performs faster, cause 1451 points isn't much , but I'm sure there are lot's of bugs to be cleared, so far so good ps_47!!

@ ps_47

Was that a crate or 2 ? hehe

the first gallery is up and running at 3dfx.cz forum, but you need to be a registered user in order to view it..few samples:

ps47 (right) with full t-buffer support (motion blur&depth of field.the guy in the middle has hosted the whole party, the guy at the left has driven me halfway home Grin):
...

right out of the matrix, the Neo of czech techie movement,agp5 in his backpack.guess who.
...

3500tv is really hard to use under xp:
...

ooo-key,the party was quite short (6hrs),but quite fun, free 3dfx talk as usual,quake2 powered by 3dfx deathmatch, and fooling around with a 8Mhz stoneage pc pulled out of a junk heap.and some really good czech food too (if you played soldier of fortune2,you may remember that Mullins asked for some "polevka" in one of the first cutscenes [polevka=soup],and the guy after the bar replied with "would you like to have svickova instead?" and Mullins answered "no,the polevka was highly recommended." well guess what,Mullins is an idiot,if you happen to be in CZ sometime in the future, you should definitely go for svickova.and if the bartender asks you if you would like to have something else, just reply with "no,the svickova was highly recommended" Wink).

the agp5 prototype looks sweeet.right now,no one can really tell why it slows down the agp card so much (in theory,it just shouldnt happen, but sometimes things just dont go as smooth in the real world),this is going to be analyzed thoroughly (Ren has received 5 more 3dfx cards so he'll be able to compare pci and agp5 performance himself).

I was feeling kinda weird last few days before the party, and guess what, some weird cr@p happend to my throat (virus? infection? no one will ever know) making me sound like a retarded hybrid of gollum and vortigaunt that has been castrated by a stone brick for all the rest of the party.at the end of the day,I have totally lost my voice and havent recovered yet.it is quite fun,in a way, when people ask me whats up with me not answering and stuff all I can give them for reply is I have losst my preciouss..kch kch,voiccce..in a really hissy and sneaksy way Roll Eyes

being able to type down everything I want to say never felt so good Wink

hey ps47 I hope you recover soon mate, that Neo guy really could be a good role for Neo in Matrix IV if that one will ever get out haha Cheesy

but hey what also got my mind is how you guys painted the heating pipes in your room very deccorative!

And congratulations on that AGP5 project, man I'm just astonnished that you get ém work'n! Crikey rather amazing that is works, should be at least happy that they work man Smiley

but that they work much slower than AGP and PCI might be because that thier bus speed don't run @ 66Mhz, have you tried them in a 64Bit 66Mhz PCI Slot? that may be an idea for better performance, just an idea to help out, personally I have never built something electronnic , so just think'n out loud there mate.

But about your throat please go see a doctor as you can see there are many strange deseases go'n on in this strange world we live in   Cry Cry this Wednesday for me is gonna be scary as well have to go to the Hospital in Rotterdam for a MRI Scan, the lumps in my leg got bigger instead of smaller, so when I walk around I feel a little unballanced.

May Your Friend's AGP5 Project be a great Success and

May The Force Be With You Always,

Jedi Master,

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

P.S.

Oh your gallery does not work it's all in Czech and I have to log in, I suppose others have the same prob, cheers.

Wink

the problem with agp5 lies elsewhere.I mean,a small performance hit is expected (because the card is running at pci speed),but that shouldnt be more than 5-10%.well see..

edit: forgot to throw in the latest pic of agp5 from the party:

...

ready to rumble.well se what hogs this piece of art, sooner or later Grin

Good thing you included a pic. I thought it was some home brew. I've heard you guys have some wicked powerful drinks over there.

you bet.it burns holes in people Grin.I'm not really much into drinking though (this is my personal favorite drink.it resembles cola a bit,but its not as sweet..funny thing is that I actually dont like the bottled "originals" as much as the draught ones you can get in every decent pub.hope I used the word "draught" correctly Roll Eyes)..and I can really enjoy good food, and I'm stating to look it Roll Eyes

oh btw, "polevka" is simply soup.added to the first post to avoid the drink<->food confusion Wink
