Strange IceMan Voodo 1 Driver
28.10.02 at 18:05:41

I checked the IceMan Voodoo 1 driver from falconfly.de and compared it to the latest reference driver. There are only two files different. GLIDE2X.DLL and GLIDE3X.DLL. They have the same Version Numbers but are a few hours later. After comparing with FC i came to the conclusion that only two bytes in the executable part of the dll's are different. FC count's more bytes but these others are in the exe-header at the beginning  and int the info part at the end of the files. Does anyone know where these two files com from or what they difference to the reference drivers is?

Regards,
Andreas

P.S.
To Falconfly: Also this driverset has the FXMEMMAP and 3DFXVGL crash problem as well as 3DFVGL named 3DFXOGL.

Hm, Iceman was once known to make minor modifications to files.

But I have to admit, the mentioned Driver basically made it into the Archive "blind", based on minimal information only... And in addition because there seemed almost no modified Drivers existing for Voodoo1 Tongue

If you have made the experience that it is faulty, has bugs, or is just 'redundant' (diplomatic name for : actually useless), I'll be glad to either make fixes to it, or remove it alltogether Wink

(you're actually the first one to leave any feedback on this Driver)

Greetings

Well...

Thinking about it, I remember Iceman (or his Drivers) were not well accepted by everyone back in time.

It might be in order to check out his other Drivers as well, since I didn't pay much attention in detail to any of them...

Would be bad to offer 3rd party Drivers that actually don't do any good, worst case  Undecided
