yeah i remember trying to track some nt4 stuff for direct download very painful ! some obscure bits and pieces like active desktop ie 4 update  which microsoft doesn`t offer anymore . i found some russian ftp which had the works , shame i lost that url .

linux sounds good haven`t tried any newer versions for years

It's still got alot of the old restrictions, that blocks it to be used by 'anybody' .

On the good side, several distributions come with quite nice Packet Managers, which makes working with them alot easier.

Still, many (otherwise powerful) applications lack their own GUI's, and the connection itself between the various GUI's and the Applications is still very loose, hence pulling down usability alot Roll Eyes

But for something that's free, already an extremely good Operating System, especially since I have quite alot of Client Systems Wink

yeah i tried out a few versions (free magazine) , some were pretty good
bought one kit which was useless no sound support , plus my old banchee was a bit rough on those systems

might be worth checking out see what progress theres been
