does it look like the Volari Duo, or is it a total new design?

Volari Duo V8 or Volari Duo V8 Ultra is what he is looking for.

-- edit --

Darn, no Duo's anymore.
Seems, due to their Drivers/Performance and (primarily) insane Noise most of them got dumped somewhere.
As of now, there's no single one being sold in Germany anymore I guess.

At least I own one *g*

Yep, ebay might be the quickest solution after all (if one turns up).

This is actually funny/strange :
I've never seen a Card become a Collector's Item so quick, barely released, already off the market again (although for obvious reasons).

And it's sold out, as stated by the Shop's Stock/Availability Code...

AFAIK, there is no Shop remaining in Germany that still sells them.
Don't know if they can still order them from XGI.

IMHO, the Volari Duo V8 Ultra suffered a silent death.
Few were produced, a hell lot fewer were sold, and even less were actually used (besides being Testing/Collector's Items).

Oh well, that was the Price of selling a 80dB+ piece of Hardware.
(never in my life heard anything louder than this in a PC, not even a Blacklabel 7000rpm Fan can touch a Volari Duo *g* )

Does Volari have its own technology? or is it Nvidia/ATI powered? I saw some from Club 3D, if some are interested I might go and check if they're still there...

Volari is the chip's name. The company which designed the chip is XGI. No nVidia or ATi involved there.

Cool then! So do they have their own output system (like 3dfx has Glide)?

I love when there is no ATI nor Nvidia!

You're forgetting S3's Metal API. And there was another one if I'm not mistaking.
