but without the finacial background you can live without a 200sbi and feel as a 3dfx fan ;) so be careful with those comments please... |

lol a Q3D 200SBi , hmm well I only do 3dfx made stuff, Q3D is not my type sorry, it's not 3dfx designed imho, but anywayz nice card TM30, and it's big too, I suppose longer than a V56K :D
I see that it has 25 ns 100Mhz EDO Ram, very interesting My Skywell Technology 110Mhz Magic 3D II 12MB has 22ns Ram ;D I tested that 110Mhz SKywell V2 and it's default speed is also 110Mhz :X here a link to my 110Mhz Skywell V2 12MB : http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/albums/collectors_obiwankenobi/IMAG0177.jpg |

And your V2 can achieve 120mhz, a normal can only go to 117mhz because of the 25ns. That 117mhz is not a heat limitation, it is a technical one. But with a Volt mod you could get toward the 120+. But it is clear that a Voodoo2 chips(s) could go much higher than 90mhz.

What you're saying here makes me feel quite better, actually! I thought that, in order to be a respected 3dfx collector, I ought to own at least one Quantum card. :-X But then I see that I don't, and that's cool! 8) That sentence also makes me think that there are two "clans": the 3dfx one and the Quantum3d one (and those who collect both cards). It's like the tigers and the white tigers: same blood but somewhat "different"! Anyway, these pics are really really artistic! Gotta paint some cards too after building them with Lego! ;) |

Personally if you look at the history of 3dfx and Quantum3D in some ways they are one and the same. I see no difference between the two and in my eyes 3dfx still lives in the people who work at Quantum3D. |

Yes, i am fully agree! I havent got 200SBi and not voodoo5 6000 :'(....but i feel to be a 3dfx fun, because my heart is like a PCB which have on a 3dfx's chip! ;D Any way, i want to have got one proto-card soon ;) |

Well, I was "thinking". Since I'm new in here, I was wondering if what Obi said was actually what I meant. Seems like I was wrong and it's better like that (if you're right of course). I wasn't meaning anything bad with what I said, anyway! :) |

They're handsome cards. And functional in a modern system too in exactly the same way any Voodoo2 SLI implementation is (for glide and perhaps some early OpenGL games).
Mine is in full view to me as I write this. It's in my Windowed case, lit by a blue cold cathode. It's a black card sticking out of my black motherboard alongside my black sound card. Unfortunately my 6800 GT breaks the trend by being blue but luckily that doesn't show in blue light! ;D Yes, a 200SBi is impractically long. Mine's installed below the drive bays and overlaps the back edge of the hard disk drive by about 3"! And I own 3Dfx and Quantum3D cards but I don't think it matters which or what people own. I think what matters is that you understand what 3Dfx (and, later, 3dfx) meant to computers and computer gamers. You don't have to even own a card. So long as you remember and you care! :) |

very nice pics and a very nice card :D
but I like such sentences like TM30s not. Only because someone have more money for cards he is not in possibly a form better than other collectors ::) |

oh my god... i did not want to attack someone... i wanted to write it in an ironic view in concern to edmundo...

Oh well probably another misunderstanding. TM30, I see no cable? So can you actually use the card or is it going to be a display item?

Back on topic here...
I really like the look of the Black SBi cards but I'm happy with my Green one. It has faster memory and a higher rev. level, rev 8 I believe. Four heat sinks look better than one long one but the should have put two on the back. The 4 cards in my mercury system are Green as well ;) |

I'll add this since it's a 200SBi gallery.
It's default clock is 95 mhz and it has unusally crisp video output, very noticable under glquake. |
