Title: RTCW
Post by oldskool on 21.03.10 at 23:21:56
Just installed RTCW and was suprised that it doesn't support 3dfx natively and yet mohaa does which was released after it. Seems very strange, did iD abandon 3dfx in favour of nvidia and ati ?

In RTCW Game of the Year, the OpenGL DLLs are on Disk Two in /Setup/Data/gl (openglv3.dll, openglv5.dll).  I don't recall if they are installed automatically or not.

I've only got the one disc, re-installed and checked in the system setup for RTCW and it shows 3dfx wickedGL is being used. Scan lines are a bit off though and it only recomends 640x480. Suppose I could run it with 2xAA.

Hi

RTCW works fine with WinXP with SFFT and Mesa.

If I remember right, just rename opengl32.dll to openglv5.dll and copy it to in game directory and replace the original with this.

Here is my screenshots with V56K and 8x FSAA in 1024*768

I'm not sure, because when I added this in autoexec.cfg

seta cg_drawfps "1"

It just show max 90 fps in right corner.. Sometimes it goes littlebit under but never seen it over 90. I think it goes higher, but maybe this string won't show more than 90 ???

Added: Sorry, I remember wrong. This 90 thing was without FSAA... I don't remember what it was with full FSAA, I should make test some day again..

com_maxfps 333 or
com_maxfps 0

I think the default is 85 which often shows as 90fps

Yes, that could be like that.
I'll try that thing in my game.

Added: Test done and in 1024 it shows now over 100fps allmost all the time and max seems to be in 130-150fps. 1280*1168 mode, which my LCD is right now it shows 115-129fps. All this with no FSAA
