Yes it's amazing everything has to be spelled out in detail to sellers how things are to be packed and shipped.

He wrote that he had an Item being shipped without adequate Protection, with its Retail Box (a)bused as the Package itself... I have it when that happens all the time.
.. and one 3dfx Item turned out to be an NVidia Card *urg* Anyway, really seems more important than ever to make sure the sellers understand that it's a Collector purchasing a Collector's Item, otherwise many tend to go for el cheapo packaging :P |

Yes I know what he posted, I hit the modify button instead of reply and wiped out his post.
Sorry FF, I'll get the hang of it. <need to have coffee before posting> |

I agree with Patience.
If you want something to arrive in good condition, as you class it as a collectors/important item, ask before purchasing. The seller may not know you are a collector of 3dfx cards (not everyone knows 3dfx cards are special to some people. ::) Only a seller will know how much the packaging means to you, if you request for it to be packaged carefully. ;) I ALWAYS ask if I am concerned about how the package will arrive. If you don't ask, don't blame the seller. Blame your Post Office. :P |

Yes I understand your point. But if you don't specifically ask for the card to be well packaged, you only have yourself to blame. It's harsh, but that's how it works.
If the card comes damaged, the seller can always turn round and say that you never requested extra package. And he/she has every right to do so, because you didn't. If you want something done, don't make hints or beat around the bush by saying "I am a collector". Just say "I request the item to be packaged carefully". They seller can turn round and say: "Ok" "Ok, but it will cost you extra" "Cannot do" Either way, you know where you stand, and have the piece of mind knowing it will be packaged safely (if agreed upon) because you asked for it. |

I ask for extra packaging all the time, there are still plenty of nitwits who ignore shipping instructions (after getting your cash of course) and send stuff in padded mailers, or worse. Here is a perfect example: Sent to seller on purchase of two unboxed V3's and driver disc- "Please make sure cards are well packaged and not rubbing against each other please." Cards sent in thin padded mailer with driver disc between the cards! Seller blames crappy packing job on wife, seller now has crappy feedback. The driver disc was destroyed, but at least the cards made it ok which is a minor miracle. |

janskjaer, i dont understand what your saying?
i used to give 3.00 extra to help with packing it safe until a$$wipe #1 sent me my v5 5500 in retail box taped from one end to another after i told him i was collecting those boxes, he was nice enough though to thank me for the extra 3.00, over 50 ebay buys and just 3 idiots, thats what my post is about, 3 a$$wipe$ who put something in ad to make a sale and dont have it delivered as such |

It would be nice if buyer had to pay after the item has arrived, as many times the aforementioned item does not arrive at all or in very bad conditions.
