Only just realised how high eBay fees can go.

Have the fees been changed in the last year or so? Or have I just never really noticed it before because I haven't sold much?

I just got billed for £52!!  Shocked  Shocked

Yes I've sold about 8 items, totalling £400, but what the heck, the percentage of the final value fee is through the roof, on top of all the insertion fees etc.

Grrrrr  Angry What a ripoff!

I just read that in 2009 eBay increased the final fee to 10% or so. That's crazy.

Anyone got some good alternatives to ebay?

I use Kijiji, Craigslist and Amazon for buying and selling.

I'm definitely considering Amazon here. Thing is, you just can't beat eBay for target audience. Atleast, not here in the UK/EU.

Have you tried Gumtree.com?  It's a UK/european search and also includes other countries.

For ebay USA, the final value fee is 9% or up to a maximum of US $50 per sale
hefty for a small item

No fees here, but I dont think you would get as much money for run of the mill items.
