Yes, there is a spending limit.
And no, this doesn't mean the email is legitimate; it could be a con. This is what paypal says about fraudulent emails:

AFAIK noone will ever ask you for your Credit Card number.
If you receive anything like that via EMail, it is 99.999% fraud. |

Send the email to- spoof@paypal.com and check the reply. I'll go farther then FF and state 100% of the e-mails I get in regards to something like that are fraud. Premier accounts have no limits, personal ones have some. |

Personal and Premier accounts both have sending and withdraw limits. To cancel this limit you have to verify your account. This can be done by clicking on the Expanded Use Enrollment or something similar. By doing so, they charge 2$ at your account and they give you a 4 digit number beside the payment you'll see on your bill. Then you enter the number on PayPal and they'll give you 2$ for your PP account. And you'll be verified and no more limit.

@VDX - I got a similar email recently... ::)
...blah, blah, blah...please verify your credit card details...blah, blah, blah... :P Just IGNORE any emails that ask for credit details! >:( It actually tells you on the Paypal website that they will NEVER ask for your credit details - EVER! :o So, it's just a scam - ignore it at all costs! >:( (even the PayPal email address on these things is 'spoofed'!) :o |

ty for the advice all, what really makes me wonder is if it isnt paypal sending the messege then how does this other person know how much ive spent, the last 3 times ive bought something on paypal ive gotten a --> you have 389.00 left on your limit, next time ---> you have 247.00 left on your limit, i mean thats sorta odd, ive ignored it cause i dont wanna use any other card for paypal but ill sure be pissed if i cant buy anything.
i sent a messege to whoever(paypal or not) and asked wtf this was and that im not givin em any more info, been a week and no reply, i think paypal woulda said something by now. |

Ah it is paypal asking for my info, hmm i use a preloaded mastercard for my own protection, since it cant be charged if there isnt money on it, i just put money on it whenever i need it, i guess paypal doesnt like this, they want my bank card info, guess using a card i can deny the charge on and not pay is what paypal wants, not sure i care for this idea of giving them my info on a card im not gonna use for paypal. now im down to less than 100.00 on my paypal account unless i get verified.
oh yes and i sent them a nice long email on their whole get verified idea. |

Well, if you think there's something weird, you can always close your account. And normally you don't need a second credit card to get verified.

Trust me, both Personal and Premier accounts have limits. The difference between them is that Premier can receive payments from credit cards, whereas Personal only from PayPal accounts. Both accounts have to get verified to remove the sending and withdraw limit. |

Please reread my post- My account is verified and has no limits. |

Yes yes I know!
:) Just to be sure so that everybody knows that having a Premier accoutn won't allow unlimited money sendings. ;) |

I'm baffled by this statement you keep making- I have sent several thousands of dollars through my account with no problem. |

At once? The spending limit applies to single amounts, not total amounts. |

Okay, once again.
:P Not considering the Business Account, you have four "choices". /1/ Unverified Personal Account. /2/ Unverified Premier Account. /3/ Verified Personal Account. /4/ Verified Premier Account. Personal Accounts let you make payments with credit cards, debit cards and bank accounts and receive payments only from PayPal accounts. Premier Accounts let you make payments with credit cards, debit cards and bank accounts and receive payments from PayPal accounts, credit cards, debit cards and bank accounts. See here By upgrading "simple" Personal and Premier accounts to verified ones, you have unlimited payments and withdraws amounts. Edit: Limits for "simple" accounts do apply for total amounts! My limit is 1000€ and I've got around 850€ left, which means that sooner or later, if I keep using PayPal, I will have to get verified, otherwise I won't be able to make payments nor withdraws anymore. And since I'm not verified yet, I am actually not able to make a payment greater than 850€. |

No need- Please listen. I have a verified *US* Premier personal account with no limit, I have personally moved over $11,000 *in one transaction* That is a statment of fact, it's been done. I'm not sure why you keep posting as you agree with the statment. |

@gdonovan:
I agree with the fact that you agree with me, I was aware you had written that you had a Verified Account. What I wrote can always help people out there looking for information about PayPal. It wasn't aimed at you. :) @VDX: First thing to know: eBay and PayPal (which belongs to eBay) are never going to reply mails from users. Never. Can you post a screen of your account like I did maybe? That might help. :) |
