@sloomy,
This is your card, right?

...

Well, I have seen that It is the rev. A1. Weird thing because all my V5 5500 AGP4x are rev. A2.

V5 5500 DVI AGP4x
...

V5 5500 AGP4x DIED
...

My other V5 5500 AGP4x
...

All my cards are AGP1x/2x but I read on 3dfxzone.it that your card was compatible with 1.5V, right? And I saw this :

...

Can you check your card with the Everest Home Edition and to see if it has compatibility with AGP4x? Possibly your card being the rev A1 (final rev) can be compatible with AGP4x. Wink

LET ME KNOW  Grin

Regards,
Oscar

Hi Osckhar ,Jedi Master Kenobi here,

Sloomy's card is infact a Rev.A1 3300 to be precise, togeather with Thandor, a dutch 3dfx friend of mine, we have took these various 5500 AGP x4 cards in discussion and we both took a close look at them.

here is what we found, and yes 3 different types :

3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP x4 Rev.A1 3300:
...

3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP x4 Rev.A2 3700:
...

3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP x4 +DVI Rev.A2 3300, this one was planned as VoodooMAC 5500 AGP Wink, only this  sample had a PC Bios and infact it is the only 5500 AGP x4 with DVI known:
...

okay here are the three cards, look and compare carefully thier D-Sub sections, behind the D-Sub section of the Rev.A1 3300 there is a black chip missing while the traces are very well vissible, on the Rev.A2 3300 with DVI on that spot there is a long slender rectangulair black chip, dunno what that is for though.

the Rev.A2 3700 has some aspects also where as the Rev.A1 3300 differs from, here I will explain them one by one.

The Rev.A1 3300 first difference is that it's from week 33 year 2000 and the Rev.A2 is from week 37 year 2000, well that is the most common and most easiest difference, BUT there is more Smiley

The Rev.A1 3300 has different ram, and the communicator chip is also different, one of your other Rev.A2's has no MOSFET at the card's end next to that MOSFET there is a hole, every 5500 AGP and PCI have that hole and normally there is a MOSFET.

The top Voodoo5 5500 AGPx4 Rev.A2 3300, the one under the Voodoo5 6000,  show's this difference very well, compared to the other Rev.A2 3300 from Rolo01:

...

and here Rolo01's Rev.A2 3300 as for the difference I'm trying to show you:
...

As you can see there are also some condensators and other small chip like thingies missing. as for the Rev.A2 3300 under the 6K and the Rev.A2 3700 with DVI under that, but the Rev.A2 3300 defect card looks more like the Rev.A1 3300 from Sloomy, maybe the defect card is one of the very first Rev.A2 3300's made, rather odd, same production date only it's a rev.A2 and not Rev.A1.

A very good morning to you Chosen_One Wink

well indeed you are right there, I didn't meant that it is a VMAC 5500 AGP, but indeed it is the most thinkable yes very well indeed.

What also wierd is that it's DVI port is black, most DVI ports are white, maybe 1 of the first DVI Ports. Smiley

@Obi,
I think you are confused because there is not rev 3700 A2. All are dated in the same week 3300 but with different PCB rev A1/A2.

the technology is the same...DVI-D is DVI-D! maybe they used the things they had! and if you use black or white ones; it doesn't matter! the one v3 prototype with dvi has a black one too AFAIK...

hmm Imust be confused with the Voodoo5 5000 AGP x4 Rev.A0 3700, though I have heard that there is a Rev.A2 3700 of the 5500 AGP x4 cards, wierd that I keep on remembering that  Undecided

Gary does have a Voodoo5 5500 AGP x4 Rev.A1 3000 ,[The card is dated 30th week of 2000 (11 weeks newer then my regular 5500's) and has PCB number 210-0411-001-A1. ] Wink

http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/prototypes/proto_5500_agpx4.jpg

but the one he has for trade it also misses alot of chips and MOSFETS behind the second VSA-100 Smiley , is that a Rev.A2 3300 or 3700 Gary? :

@Obi,
Both cards are dated in the week 33 year 2000 rev. A2. I have the same cards -One without MOSFET and other with MOSFET and both cards have the same date and rev.

I have noted it a few times (and edited your posts taking the image out) and the page does ask that images not be directly linked to.

The site is on a donated space, I try to impose on the owner as little as possible.

i guess, what i was pondering is that does the different color reflects different revisions.
