you know he has to pay for it if he wins
I can't stop one from bidding. But If he retracts his bid, I will report it to ebay simple as that, i have proof of 3 attempts of shill bid by then and have a strong case. he gets no special treatment for this |

It's in everybody's, including your best interest to cancel his bids. He isn't really interested in your card, and he isn't interested in 3dfx anymore (his own words) By letting his bid stand you are just upsetting proper bidders. |
Title: Re: Voodoo 5 6000 AGP Rev 2600 Scheduled 1 July 2010 Post by edmundoab on 03.07.10 at 17:35:49

and thats exactly what i am doing now to get the auction clean and honest until the final hour you know some bidders only bid in the last few seconds, and its almost impossible for me to remove their bid in time before it ends |

Thank you Tim. I'm happy to report that the card arrived safely and is functional thou the Hint bridge overheats and needs extra cooling. |

What motherboard are you using? I hope it is a fully compatible model, as an overheating HiNT chip can kill a card over time. Oh, and here is my belated CONGRATS!!!! :D ;D :D |
Title: Re: Voodoo 5 6000 AGP Rev 2600 Scheduled 1 July 2010 Post by edmundoab on 20.07.10 at 18:28:55
glad the testing turned out fine after all
though for the overheating, and as you said, serves more as a collector's item rather than for a proper gaming rig which I think the 3700A would serve better nonetheless, any luck with the Daytona Card? |

Thank you. Congrats yourself. I'm running it on my trusty MPX2466 w dual MP2800+ and 2Gb RAM. I have studied the information available on the web about these cards regarding mb compatibility and as I've seen most owners have fitted a heatsink on the Hint Bridge to not overheat even on later revisions so that's what I did. Now it works perfectly when testing it under 3d apps with FSAA8x activated. |
Title: Re: Voodoo 5 6000 AGP Rev 2600 Scheduled 1 July 2010 Post by edmundoab on 22.07.10 at 04:39:43
G1NX, glad you resolved the problem on the Hint Chip with the heat sink
But were you using the recommended M/b for this card? Perhaps that could be causing some problems with irregular voltage supplied to the AGP card? |

Well this MB Tyan MPX2466 is on the confirmed list and other's have used it to run v6k 3700 or 2600 with success. I do own other compatible mainboards/chipsets according to other user experiences like I840, KT333, 440BX and will try those as well and check for temps. But I feel secure now with the heatsink in place no matter what platform I use it on. |
