Title: Need help locating a specific 3DFX card! Post by Wylan on 16.11.05 at 21:40:42
Hello all—
I am in the process of building an old system to run old games on. Descent, Quake 2, TA, etc. I have twin Canopus cards on a Velocity 4400, but there is another card that I want, just for bragging rights, and this brings me to my subject. I'm looking for this card that I thought was called the Black Magic something or other. I seem to recall that it had a huge (at the time) amount of on-board memory, like 64/96, and it had SLI on one board. Again, it was as long as a truck, and I can see the picture of it in my mind, but I can't think of the name. ANY leads would be appreciated. |

The 'Black Magic' card was from STB; it was a Voodoo 2 with 12MB.
As for the 96MB card; this one doesn't exist: Quantum3D had a system called Mercury which used 4 of their Obsidian 2 200SB(i) cards (24MB per card/96MB total). As for the SLI on one card; that was the Quantum 3D Obsidian 2 X-16 or X24 card. Also, the Voodoo 5 cards are 64MB and SLI on one card :) http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/ http://www.falconfly-central.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1128607807 |
