Since I'm stuck here waiting for a flight to come in at the airport I thought I'd upload some pictures of new 3dfx items! Happy New Year!

Brand spanking new Pure3dLX, made sometime in early 1998!

Cool Canopus case badge included in box!

Voodoo Graphics and Voodoo Rush TMU chips new! (I might have a tray or two for sale)

Battlezone mouse pad with 3dfx logo.

New shirt.

Voodoo 3 SDK disc.

V3-3000 mousepad

New V3-2000 mousepad

V3-3500 mousepad

Shown below are some digital camera screenshots from a 180mhz Mac running a Macmagic 8MB Voodoo Graphics.. The software is some old 3dfx demos included with a Techworks (see logo lower left) Voodoo board.

When I have time I wish to video capture some of the demos running and upload the video to Youtube.

A search on a stateside forum turned up a sale of a box of 3dfx boards... amoung the common retail boards were these three jewels =)

5500 1500-A0 front

5500 1500-A0 rear

Voodoo II in house 3dfx set, PCB date 1198

3dfx QAT stamp on rear of board, yippie!

All three pieces work perfect.

650-444V-02 almost looks to be a Q3D part number.

Thanks! A stroke of luck as the package of boards could have vanished pretty quick if someone else was on thier toes.

The seller just got back to me (I ask detailed questions AFTER the hardware is in hand, hehe!)

Seller confirms both pieces (the 5500 and Voodoo II set) were direct from 3dfx as part of a 3dfx SDK package, seperate ones of course. The seller worked for a company that developed hardware drivers related to Glide API and their own physical hardware.

BTW Gary That Voodoo 5 5500 AGP is a Rev.A0 1500 not 1400 ;) look at the PCB date behind the Backplate on the card's rearside ;) I can clearly read 1500 not 1400 ;)

And another thing on the top of the card just behind the Rev.A0 inprint just behind the left cooler, the U0 chip is missing!

another small thing is that the tail part of the AGP connector is yellow and not green like on the production cards :)

A sad follow up to the 2 cards shown above- I inquired with the supplier if they knew anyone else with SDK boards and this was the reply.

Sorry to say, a lot of boards were tossed when 3DFX announced their closure. I can remember people throwing out engineering cards, and due to NDA's, weren't allowed to take them home.

I doubt it as they were not close to a point where they could be sent out with SDK packages for third parties.
