Title: AA5 8464 Dual card setup, some questions
Post by subhumangarbage on 30.03.14 at 20:45:51
Hello :)

I am in process of buying a 8264SB setup with the AV4 Power supply and standard powerboard, and knowing that I already have a 64mb card from 2001 that I never got it to work at all due to a faulty PSU, I've been considering to run them together in SLI as soon as I get the other one.

However, because I am not experienced with this kind of setup there are some things I would like to ask you before:

As I mention above, the card I already have is from 2001 (0110; bios 1.10)- supposedly a 2PPC enabled 8264, but I still don't know the mfg. date of the other card (only that its from the 2PPC revision). Will SLI work fine (if at all) even if the other card happens to be from a later date?

I'm also concious that of course I need to have the SLI fingers, but will the standard bolts that came with the original single board setup I own be alright for the task?

Another thing I'm interested in knowing is if Dual-card setups actually can still work with Opengl/Glide3 games the way SB ones do. If that proves to be the case, I would be willing to post some benchmarks to show how a 64mb dual card setup performs in games with a decent cpu (XP-M 2500+ @2.4)

I look forward to get the aalchemy working. It has been quite some time since I have wanted to do so  ;D

Thanks everyone.
