Title: Scanning old 3dfx based articles in magazines
Post by 3Dfx_tweaker on 15.11.04 at 19:30:50
I think it would be nice to scan a lot of old magazines with articles about 3dfx. Thandor has already scanned some nice articles from german and dutch magazines. I hope that people that still have these magazines can scan those articles about 3dfx. This would be a nice addition for you archive Falconfly.

Hint Hint Hint ;)

Already started on it weeks ago, three ads are already scanned in and uploaded on the collectors page.

Yes, lots of projects in the fire and will get back to it when I can.

Hm, with scanned Magazines I'd have to be careful in Germany.

Problem is, that not a few Lawyers have specialized on ripping off Webmasters for violating very minor Items (people literally hate them for doing that).

Having scanned copies of Magazines in the 3dfx Archive would only work, if the company holding the Magazine either explicitly allowed it, or simply does not exist anymore. Otherwise, I might quickly see myself paying several thousand Euro's to some lawyer :P

Perhaps not on the archive is not a good idea to be on the safe side, I'm not concerned for myself since 3dfx and boot have not been around for years.

boot is maximunpc isnt, i thought it was just a name change, ill have to find my maximumpc issue about old issues and check, unless thats a different mag altogeather ;)

They killed off boot and restarted with maxpc.

I'm not worried, not like I'm making money off the ads.

@VDX,

Your correct, boot did change its name to MAXIMUM PC (in early 2000 I think ), except for maybe about 5 issues or so, I own every boot mag  8)

It was a really great hardware magazine with lots of 3dfx related articles and reviews and it also had tons of 3dfx's advertisements  ;D

3dfx was the best back then and it was easy to be a fan  ;)

go to http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery and then the third section ;) (the one on the bottom) there you can see the collectors ablums :) it looks like sometimes some users became a directory listing denied error by triiing to conenct directly to the albums, i check the problem with the hoster afap ;)
