Title: What do I have?
Post by Landon on 10.05.05 at 04:15:45
Hi,

I was wondering if someone could tell me what I have, I picked this up for $6.00 at a little computer shop that I have been going to for years (I have been building PCs for 13 years).

Description:

-PCI
-One video connector on the metal rail.
-Single sided, there are NO parts of any kind on the back      side (just traces and little tiny pass-through holes).

-8 megs of ram (two banks of four chips each), there are no other spaces on the entire board where more could have/would have been mounted.

-"(c) 1999 3DFX Interactive" silkscreened under the 26 pin connector at the top of the card.

-Controller chip says on it:
3DFX tm
355-0017-011
F19026.10
9949 20005
Taiwan 3101

-Has three spaces in the upper left hand corner of the circuit board where optional chips could have been soldered down, and a place where another video connector could have been soldered also.  Bottom space has a sticker that says "CE 2.15.06".

Upper right hand corner has a bolted down voltage regulator inside of a small heatsink.

Back side of the board...

-In the upper right hand corner is silk screened with: "3DFX interactice  210-0366-001" then the blaa blaa non-usefull FCC data, home/office use.  Below that is a pressed on sticker with: "N2544".

-Below the soldered side of the 26 pin connector is another pressed on sticker that says "V33316".

What I do know:

It does not like the drivers on the CD for my VooDoo3-3000 AGP card, when I tried to use them anyway and rebooted the Device Manager had an error that the card would not initialize (they were probably looking for the non-existant AGP slot that this old MB does not have).

It did not like the drivers that I downloaded for a VooDoo2 card.

Every website that I have visited has said that with the V33316 sticker that this was either a PCI Voodoo2 or 3 with 16 megs of ram.  I have a Voodoo3-3000 and a Voodoo3-3500TV that both have 16 megs of ram, I know what 16 megs of ram looks like, this card only has 8.

The V33316 sticker looks as old as this card does and does not appear to have been "transplanted" from another card in an attempt to have ripped someone off in the past with false advertising (selling a Banshee marked as a Voodoo3).

Please help!

Hi,

Right after posting I found it, it appears to be a V3-2000...
