Title: Voodoo4(-2) 4000
Post by Chosen_One on 09.01.05 at 11:24:12
what is the correct name of this card? Voodoo4-2 4000 or Voodoo4 4000? rolo01 means to me that it is v4 4000 but in the bios you can read v4-2 4000....

and maybe someone can post a picture of this card...

Here is the picture:

The one to the left must be the voodoo 4 4000. I have asked Hank about it but he cannot remember what they called it. He thinks it is a Daytona card, and if you look at how the ram is placed I think he is right. So that would make it a voodoo4-2 4000. Logical Madness was the owner of it be he has sold it a very long time ago.

Who ended up with the card? dump the bios.

We know the it was VSA-100 and and have 16 MB, we also know 4200 was already used by Daytona.

I suspect since the 5500 with 32 MB was called 5000, then it would be logical to assume a 4500 with 16MB would be a 4000.

Well I'm not an expert on BIOS but what I do know is that this little card was completely dead. So is it possible to obtain a bBIOS from a dead card?

So this is not a Daytona card? Wel Hank cant be right all the time I guess. I could have sworn it was a Daytona because of the ram.

Too bad Logical Madness is such a very difficult to contact person. However I can try, I need to ask him about the 6000 resource site anyway

Depends- I would boot up a machine with the card installed along with another good card and do a scan of the bus and see if a 3dfx product is listed.

If it is listed (the card is alive but might have bad ram then a dump can be done)

Judging by the other cards in the picture odds are it isn't since all the rest are VSA-100, that is an assumption however.
