Well that was exciting, I think I'm going to bed now, the evening hasn't been a total loss as it looks like I have a line on a reworked V-6000

However, IMHO, was a little too high! Not just in terms of cash value, but if I was in your position (with the cards you already have) it is probably not worth that much. But that is just my opinion! Again, congratulations, as we know the collections is going to a good home!  :)

Well, considering Patience has a piece of about all rare Cards contained in this Auction already *g* , yet I have none of those yet, I'd call it a 'perfect match' actually ;)

But after that, our Collections are mostly lacking only some of  the more elusive Retail Card (especially fully boxed).

Yeah probably but the card were not meant to have an internal hookup so there must be some adapters left. Why was the internal hookup invented anyway? I thought that the adapters caused some v6000 kills.  

The internal adapters were created due to the lack of external adapters! ;D

Seriously, the cards were rare and few, true. But the adapters more of a rarity.

Don't forget, the 6k was still in development. Boards were being manufactured and churned out quicker than adaptors, probably because the cards were simple to make. May have (but doubt it) some of the 6k cards were made on a production line.

And if it works , some benchmarks would be nice  as well, games like Quake3 and Unreal [ the classic of course] with FSAA x2, x4 & x8 at Reso's 1024 x768 x 16 @ Glide with the Intel V5 6K  ;)

Just poped the 5500 out of my sisters computer and there was 1 thing i forgot to mention, it has 3dfx fans on it instead of the AAVID fans, totally forgot about that..i know the 3dfx fans on 5500's were too common

Well, never saw an Item that was to be shipped overseas packed so careless in my life, but luckily most of the Cards seem to have survived (only some had visible damage).

I will not Post Images of the Packet when I opened it, as it would make any 3dfx Collector break out in tears, I have no words for what I had to see.

I'll have to do some serious maintenance and cleaning on those Items before getting up any Images, because some of them are in an outright sorry condition :(

It is a pity that some people obviously don´t know how to treat things right.
I made the same experience several times on ebay.
I bought a cpu and it looked like a mess, over and over with thermally conductive compound. Luckily after cleaning it worked ok, I hope some of the cards you got are still operational.

I can never understand that there are some people who will show an utter lack of respect once they have your cash in their hands.

After carefully cleaning and looking very close over all Cards, that's how it looks :

The SB100-4440 had its 2 SHADE daughterboards almost detached, the plastic Clamps that hold them im place were almost sheered off. Shades are now held in place almost only by their own Connectors.
Its Metal bracket was bent-off by almost half an inch.

The Voodoo5 5000 SG-RAM had one of its Voltage Regulators almost sheered off, is visibly bent over.

The Canopus Pure3D had the corner of its PCB almost crushed at its weakest spot.

The other Cards now look surprisingly well, nothing major noted (lucky!)

Let me guess, just a box full of voodoo cad but no foam or anything that could protect between them. Then the box makes noise when moved, and one of those careless UPS guys wonders whats in it. He starts to shake it to hear whats inside......what a shame. I feel really sorry for you Falconfly. Did the box have a breakable sticker on the side?

Well, we were very very lucky.

All in all, most Cards survived it without visible damage, and I hope the SB100-4440 (which took the biggest beating) and the Voodoo5 5000 still work.

Anyway, it is beyond my understanding why this happened; after all it was a 1800$ item with 120$ shipping, bought from a Collector by a Collector.

I assumed that automatically meant absolutely first Class packaging, maximum protection against ESD, Shock, movement inside the Package and Humidity for each individual Card being self-explanatory.
I guess I was wrong with those assumptions ::)

PS.
Our first Collection bought in Feb 2004 arrived exactly as I stated above, absolutely generous and very careful world-class packaging for each single Item, even for the smallest ones.

I found the Voodoo5 6000 (intel 1500 Rev. A1) to be exactly this Card :

So it looks like it will never run 100% by design.
It was already fixed once, but wouldn't POST for Nd4SpdSE.

...might be Motherboard related, but who knows...

Heh, the way that the seller shipped them through the mail to Falcon, the card 'almost' didn't P.O.S.T. in a parcel! :o

The majority of images is already online (?)

The damaged Cards were mostly fixed to a point where only physical handling reveals the damage. It can't be seen now on the images.

I mean the intel v5 6000 the v5 5000 and the other one from Quantum. I havent seen them yet....(where can i find the if there already online)

I have those in my picture collection but I thought there were some more card such as the damaged v5 5000. I havent seen those on the falconly board. So i thought maybe they are repaired and ready for pictures.
