comptech_69 Full Member Offline Addicted To Half-Life 2 Posts: 183 Somewhere In Vermont Gender:	{[ W ]} Dual Head PCI Card - Info on Radeon 21.01.06 at 03:31:05 I'm looking for a dual head PCI card, something ridiculously cheap but not junk. nVidiot cards need not apply. ...Or mabye even someone that can tell me why my Radeon 7000 AGP supports dual monitors and only had one female head for a monitor? (There are no other connectors on the card)

if the Raddy 7K has a TV-out that means your can use the TV and VGA jack in Dual Head mode, and if it only has one VGA out put then it's a driver issie since that there are many Radeon 7K's with VGA , TV-Out & DVI out's onthem where as you can either use the VGA and the TV-Out in Dual head or the VGA and the DVI or the DVI and the TV-Out.

This possibillity was the same on my Radeon X800XT Platinum Edition AGP

there are some nice RAdeon PCI's out there I'd say try and find a Radeon 9K PCI 128MB they are perfect in 2D and great in older games as well, they only lack DX9.0 support because the core is based on the RV200.

My 7k does not have a tv out, it only has a single VGA hookup. Im running XP Pro SP 2 and used the default drivers. I have multi-monitor display (I have a 16mb PCI card) and the PCI card is monitor 3 becuase the 7k has 2 monitor outputs according to XP.

hmm okay nice X1800XT why not the X1900 XTX + X1900 CF in CrossFire Grin

haha I know would be very overkill, but a dream to have.

I'll be having an original Boxed ATi X850 XT Platinum Edition AGP soon fresh from ATi Canada the fastest AGP card up to date, I see that as a collectors item hehe

but refering back to the topic

you could use this card as your secondary VGA:

Hercules 3D Prophet 9000 PCI 64MB

use that next to your X1800XT then you can use 3 Monitors instead of 2 Wink

it's because that the X1800XT has 2 sepperate Ramdac's and the 9000 only has one ramdac for dual head
