Title: Voodoo 4 4500 hardware level programming specs
Post by prk on 31.08.04 at 05:59:27
Hello all!

I'm trying to learn a little about 3D graphics hardware and so I've been searching for technical documentation like register-hardware level specs, driver development docs, etc.
As today companies like nvidia and ati don't release those specs to public, I was happy when I found the specs of Voodoo 3 on this page (after all it was a good card ;). What I wanna know is if the docs for Voodoo 4 where "made" public at the end of 3dfx as a corporation. żIs easy to obtain those specs or only the voodoo 3 are relatively easy to get?

Thanks.

Thank you guys!

The source code is much more than I expected ;)

I have another question for you. żDo yo think that a voodoo 4 is a good graphics card to start learning about 3D hardware or I should be starting with other cards? I suppose that the question is already answerd. After all, I dunno that any other "current" card it's "so well" docummented, but I wan't your opinion.

Thank you again.

Prk.
