Title: 3dfx Glide Video Capture Software
Post by ania3Dfx on 20.02.10 at 22:13:27
Hej all,

Is there a piece of software available that I can use to record videos of games running in 3dfx Glide?
I found some software called HyperSnap by Hyperionics that captures 3dfx Glide screenshots.  They have another piece of software called HyperCam, but this does not capture video in 3dfx Glide. :-(

What can I use?  To the people who created 3dfx fan videos, what did you use to record the in-game clips, or were the games running in another API (OpenGL or Direct3D) that could be video captured?

Not sure but I think FRAPS can do that.

GLiDE is a peculiar beasty indeed... :D

...@Gary should know something about this as he's had experience in capturing from many different 3Dfx related cards... :)

I bet some people also captured the demos using other hardware/API's (Direct3D for example) to avoid problems. If I remember correctly some screenshots on boxes of 3D-accelerator cards weren't even rendered with the card that was in the box :).

Maybe it's an option to link up the TV-out to a TV-in and record directly. This will probably give you less image quality but you can use it as an last option ;).

FRAPS is your best shot but only under XP however I did have a early version that worked with win9x and ME but lost it and have never found it.
