@Thandor - benchmarks are as follows... Cheesy

SYS. SPEC.

[Note, the computer is being used as a media centre on a TV in PAL 50Hz which may affect the results] Roll Eyes

MS-6168 Mainboard
Powerleap PL-i3T with 1.3GHz Tualatin Celeron
Built in V3 2000 8MB with TV-OUT
Built in AC97 sound [same chip as SB PCI128]
256MB RAM
6GB Quantum Bigfoot HDD

Running Win98... Grin
AmigaSport 2.9 Win9x Drivers Grin

All tests were run at 640x480 16bit Double Buffer for fair comparison (this is the MAX res. you can run 3D Mark 2001 SE at!) Tongue

Final Reality - 4.91 FR Marks
(Comparison to PowerVR PCX2 on same MB) - 4.02 FR Marks

3D Mark 99 MAX - 4585 3D Marks [16647 CPU Marks]

3DMark 2000 - 3727 3D Marks

3D Mark 2001 SE - 1150 3D Marks

++EDIT++

Unreal Tournament 436

timedemo of UTBENCH

@640x480 GLiDE = 36.98FPS
@800x600 GLiDE = 26.91FPS

Q3A Point 1.32

timedemo of FOUR

@640x480 (Default settings and 3DfxGL) = 45.8
@640x480 (Default settings & WickedGL) = 40.4

All timedemos were run 3 times for average scores.

Ureal ver 2.26 Final 1999,
Unreal Tournament Game Of The Year Edition Ver 4.36 Final 1999
&
Tactical Ops: Assult On Terror Ver 3.4.0 Final 2000.

They are more usefull that useless 3D Mark, they at least have 3dfx Glide, 3D3 is the onli API you tyested  Undecided , I think if you test the Voodoo3 2000 8MB onboard with the games it was designed for we would get a better view on how it would perform en 3dfx Glide and nit MS Dierct3D ...ieuw. Cry

3D mark is actually useless on a 3dfx card, because it's a D3D test, and not a Glide test, it only test's the card in D3D and not Glide, if You use DX6 based D3D games like StarWars Racer for example you wopuld get a better view of it's performance. 3D mark 2001 SE was made for Geforce3 and ATi Radeon 8500 cause it has Shader model 1.1 support and T&L.

And I have learnt that testing Vid cards in the apps you use normally all the time are much more usefull than a stupid 3D mark thing imho.

...sorry but no Unreal scores, there's enough stuff here anyhow! Wink
Wh00t and thanks  Grin

It looks like it performs good enough for an onboard chipset  Smiley . Too bad there only a few motherboards that used the V3 chipset.

@BFG3Dfx - actually, the powerleap convertor only 'half' works... Tongue

...the AMI-BIOS on the R2 board will NOT detect the cache of the Celeron in DOS. Angry

So in Windows you need to install the Powerleap "CPU Cache" configuration utility...then it works normally! Roll Eyes

...problem is that with no Cache in DOS, it takes 30min to boot Win98!!! Shocked

Also, the adaptor restricts you to a choice of Win 95/98/98SE (not that we'll complain!) Wink

ANY Win NT O.S. (NT4, 2000, XP, Vista) will not work as the CPU is reported incorrectly! Cry

I'd be interested to find out how the Rev. 1 board with the AWARD BIOS performs with a Powerleap... Cheesy

@Obi-Wan_Kenobi - Anger necessary is not! Angry Leads to the Dark side it does! Shocked

Be nice and I'll post some OGL (Q3A) and GLiDE (Unreal Tournament) benchmarks... Wink

Hi guys. Yea, those pictures are interesting & fasinating. I never knew 3DFX made motherboards.

In Asia, do they sell those brandnew? I'm curious. I bought mine on ebay from here in the United States, but if they have them brandspanking new in Asia, next time I'll buy from them.

My voodoo 3 3000 agp looks exactly like the one with the Decent cd game and Need For Speed 2 SE 3dfx cd in those screens. I'd like to see what that CD is like, manual, etc...

OT besides the attractive boxes/hardware, those Asian girls are gorgeous. I'd do anything to get a asian girlfriend, you're lucky frank boa

Kuze - For the Citizens part, they don't even recognize the massive explotation inherited in the system. They absorb only the information that appeals to them that's easy to accept. Theirs is a phony society, I want to open their eyes to that fact.

In fact, 3dfx never made production motherboards.
These motherboards are from brands such as MSI and A-Trend with an 3dfx chip onboard.

Maybe there are some new boxes, but I guess that most of the boxes aren't new and sealed anymore.

An image of the Voodoo 3 3000 CD is in the startpost.

@BFG3dfx - you are correct in essence... Wink

If it's a 800MHz 100FSB CPU that is already supported in the BIOS (i.e. one of the processors in the BIOS microcode list) then it will work fine and there will be no 30min boot delay for Win98 to start. Cheesy

But if it's a Tualatin Celeron in a Powerleap adaptor, you'll have the same problem I faced when I upgraded - the problem is not really the CPU MHz, only that the BIOS cannot correctly pick up the Tualatin microcode as it is not included in the BIOS itself! Tongue

Hope you find one that works for you! Otherwise, just use one of the 'known' supported processors to install Win98...then upgrade and install the Powerleap 'CPU cache' utility afterward! 8)

Benchies updated, and that's DEFINATELY it this time! Roll Eyes

I'm dismantling the system that uses the MSI-6168 to build a 'better' 3Dfx retro rig! Wink

Namely, I'm going to test out my Q3D Voodoo 2 AGP! Grin

WOOT! 8)
