I'll give them a go tomorrow.  I'm getting the memmap error in XP now since I upgraded my CPU from 2.4 to 3.4 with the FastVoodoo drivers.

I'll post how I get on in a few days.  Thanks Geri!

..just wanted to drop a link to the ver.2.0 driver.warnings first: this driver is for single voodoo2s only.do NOT install it if you have a SLI setup.the driver has no uninstaller, back up your registry,or prepare for some cleaning after youre done.
and now the good stuff:the driver really works,offering a full opengl/glide/d3d support in pass-through mode.I have tried few d3d games (thief2,final fantasy7 pc,final fantasy8 pc,incoming),and they all ran fine.nice  8)

Shame about no SLI support! :'(

Although the D3D is nice - will it work in conjunction with a Radeon? ???

Title: Re: LegendgrafiX VoodooMage WinXP D3D/OGL/Glide dr
Post by Geri_ on 04.02.05 at 19:20:39
To use SLI, install only one voodoo2... the second voodoo2 leave in multimedia device, do not install... And the SLI mode will work with Glide/OpenGL...

I plan to fix this later...
And in the next version i create a reg - cleaning mechanism too...

The only gripe I have about the new site is that you have to be in 1024x768 or higher resolution to view it! ::)

Still a nice site though! 8)

What ? You managed to run FarCry ? How did you do that ?
I am still looking for a way to bypass that autodetection of the 3dfx cards at the beginning.
I was always sure a V5 can handle that game with MesaFX, but never got that far...

3dfx card autodetectuion?
Hmm.. i tried the far cry demo. The menu loads, and works, but in the demo the stuffz in the menu is not rendered.
I fixed some bugs, so now the menu are visible in the demo.
If i get the full version of far cry, i can say more.

I'm really interested in this.I was trying to get the game running on my voodoo5,but no matter what I did the game just kept detecting a voodoo4 (!) and exited to desktop with "card not supported" message.the card detection seemed to be bulletproof, even 3danalyze was not able to fool it..are you running via opengl or D3D?

Great work Geri ;)

uhh... I am here with bad news.

THE STOP
I stop creating these drivers. The reasons:
-The 3dfx is dead now. It cant be relife-d.  :'(
-I hate writing/speaking in languages, that different from hungarian. I simply hate all, and i speak very bad english, i know.  :-X
-Voodoo2 is a very old hardware now.

Thanks for the help everybody, for helping transalations, and for other helps.

The 2.2.5 version will be relased, but not with all feature.

Thanks beta testers, thanks everybody! I am realy happy when you do are making using my driver :D lol (still dont speak english :P)

somebody will transalate if want.

Úgy érzem, most végre valami hasznosat csináltam, mikor ezt a drivert nekiálltam megírni. A driver pár hete majdnem belendült.
A tesztelés előtt mindíg a megfelelő mennyiségű csokit használtam :D csoki nélkül nincs driver, csoki nélkül nincs próba se :D

Szal.. Ez van. A csoki mindenek felett :)
Aztán voltak kemény béta tesztek is.

Doom3, Unreal, Alice, Crock, 3Dmark2001.
Akkor most bámulnánk ilyen TNT szintű grafikát. Vagy még azt sem.

I hail to Geri for his hard work and unique achivements gained with this driver...

But there is one thing every one who uses this driver should know... the driver remained in beta stage, so it's likely to cause problems (worst case scenario is that you get your current windows installation eaten by the driver)
I reccomend to use "testing istallations" (instead of your current highly configured & tweaked installation) where a crash is not a mayor problem.

The driver when works works fine, the above mentioned problems occur when it doesen't work, it can be caused by various reasons like incompatibily with certain hardware/hardware combinations or with certain d3d games &  applications, the glide and opengl side is said to work flawlessly. (1 practical hint... the driver is said to cause crashes using 3Dfx hardware as primary (2D) card, I never made it to run on such combination)

The features are tempting thow, so it's worth a try ;D

One of the coolest things I achived is running one V2 as 2D device, (while testing I had no passtrouhg cable, I had 2 monitors attached so I see when does the V2 work) and easily enabled the V2 as desktop extention, I got it running on 1024x768 @ 75Hz in a dual monitor setup. (had some problems running movies there thow :P )
I used a Canopus SpectraLight T32 PCI (TNT2 chipset) as primary card

My testing has only began, so I can't tell more but since the large amount of various hardware I have available I will be doing some compatibility tests and if I suceed I might be giving support for the driver.

(I'm really into this driver since Geri is a good friend of mine :) )
