ok i got my Diamond Monster Sound MX300 (with the Vortex 2 chip on it) in the mail. But now i'm wondering.

Which sound card sound i have in my V5500 setup? Right now it have a SB Live! value, the black-colored PCB one with the EMU10K1 chip.

Which one woud be better, the SB Live! Value, or the MX300?

MX300 is almost legendary......the chip that challenged the almighty soundblaster and beat it....and to top it all...on a card of a big company.

In my eyes it's the MX300 hands down. :)

If the above is 100% accurate, I dunno, but that is how I experienced it when it came out and the reviews after that.

MX300 is better than SB Live Value in sound quality. In some games SB Live might be better (sound positioning), but overall audio quality is much better on MX300.

Plus MX300 looks much better (as a piece of hardware) and you can add a wavetable daughterboard.

So i did the switch, the MX300 in my V5500 setup, and the SB Live! value in the V2SLI setup.
