Title: 3dfx Brand Name Post by QuaddamagE on 30.01.06 at 02:47:41
I recently saw an auction on eBay australia and the seller is selling a particular motherboard that has s3 savage onboard graphics. This would be fine however in the description he is saying that these particular boards have 3dfx onboard. I wrote to him explaining that these boards have an s3 chipset and not the 3dfx. He replied with the following:
This is the correct Video Accelerator, and is capable of 3D Graphics rendering hence 3dfx. 3dfx is a generic term used for any card capable of 3d graphics processing. Now i don't know about you guys but this struck me as rather odd. Before i go into detailing the history of 3dfx to this gentleman i was wondering what you guys would say to this seller. cheers ;D Quad |

You have gone as far as you can go with this guy. He is not interest in correcting his listing. You did the right thing but he could care less. It is unfortunate and he may end up with an unhappy buyer and receive negative feedback over the deal.
