Post by Max_R on 06.07.07 at 16:59:28
Hi,
I'm searching a ram expansion module for my awe 64 gold (official or unofficial doesn't matter).
If someone has the awe-simm scheme let me know please :)

Hi,
gamma, can you upload a photo? There are different types of this module. A friend of mine has a 4 mb module. If I remember well, awe32 uses standard 30 pin simms module. I'm searchin an expansion module like exxe posted (24 mb + 4 onboard) or similar :)
Thanks :D

P.s.
As alternative there are some self-made module that permit to use standard 30 pin simms module.

I see :)

No I have the standard 30 pin simms.

You'll prolly do better searching on ebay for something like that ;)

The awe64 gold takes some weird expansion modules (they look like matrox's) whilst awe 32 takes typical 30pin ram modules. On my awe32 I have 2x1MB 30 pin modules and on my 64 gold I can't remember their exact size in MB. If anyone remember or has creative's dos util that reveals midi bank in MB please post it. I don't really need the module it so if you want it contact me.

If I remember well the module uses 2 mb chips (like onboard chips)
For example
2 chips = 4 mb
12 chips = 24 mb
Thanks :)
