Hi,

Today I have received a new uncapped rampage chip. It come from an engineer.

It was uncapped to allow tinkering "FIB" and try to validate solutions to the hardwares problems of the rampage card.
I don't know if the chip is in life or not. We can see a sticker on the top of the chip. So good :)

Here are some pictures:

And here a little video:

nb. to remember, Oscar have two rampage chips (one uncapped and one not) and me three (two capped (safe and die) and one uncapped (unknown status for now).

If Oscar can give us the status (in details) of these chips please?

Regards,
Trevor.

-  One Important note about rampage chip decapped:

"All of the Voodoo Rampage chips have been decapped for failure analysis and would not work."

It comes from an engineer.

It's mean all decapped chips are bootables or not but doesn't work in fulls conditions.
For ex, some decapped chip have no 3D functions.

Very interesting...! Need to test mine...

An engineer worked in Rampage project told me the problem using de-capped rampage chip is the hot. He told me is VERY IMPORTANT to keep the silicon cool. He recomended me using cold spray evenly and constantly in the chip.

I need to do more test but not time free here. My de-capped chip with onpen die wroks ok but seems it has not 3D feautres but I need to do more test since balls are very deteriorated and possibly does  not makes good contact.

My decapped chip doesn't work for now. When i put in the socket of my rampy A1, the card doesn't boot.

I have noticed one thing:

Some balls are damaged. It's perhaps the problem or the chip is simply dead. We will see...

X: damaged balls
X: don't have a good contact with the socket.

0 0 x 0 0
0 x 0 0 x
x 0 0 x X
0 0 0 0 0
x 0 0 0
