Ok, I am currently setting up the test system for the v6k.  As suggested by many I have an Epox 8K3A+ with a AXDA3200DKV4D. (AXP Barton 3200+ w/ a 333 FSB, the max that mobo supports)  I will have pics of her running soon enough! :)

@ razrx, Nice pic!  I have a similar shot of mine for you ;)

Really happy for you mate, well done. :)

Does it have the PCI rework? How's it running?

@Tim the PCI rework is visible on the close-up shot. See the resistors with 0 value near the lower NFR sticker.
@ Rotten very nice card. Congratulations are in order  :)

Thanks for all the congrats! :) She is fully stable in all AA (2x,4x,8x) modes and running strong.  I played UT99 and Q3A for hours last night and I did not have one problem.  I will have an update tonight, stay tuned. ;) (and several more updates in the near future)

Then your 6k is added as a new one in the V56k owners list.

Okey, maybe we can try a panel game  ;D  No, seriously. It doesn´t matter. Have fun with your new goddess ;)

I have been drooling up until the moment I spotted a crooked TT Vulcano 11. Bah. If you are assembling SUCH a machine, then please - by all means get a Zalman or something stylish. Maybe a thermalright SLK 600 with some shiny 12' cm led-lit silent fan...

Man... V5 6k... thats something that deserves only the best. Gratz man  :)

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6k Style
Post by AzzKickr on 17.05.09 at 18:45:27
I think the Volcano suits it well. My V5 powered retro machine has a Volcano 6 cooler, because that's the same generation hardware, more or less. A newer cooler would not suit it because it is not from the same era. (imho)

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6k Style
Post by Tim on 17.05.09 at 18:57:30

Maybe it is a bit nitpicky, but a system like this would deserve the best, so I have to agree, those thermaltakes were more show then go, even though it isn't a disastrous cooler, a Thermalright SP-97, or SLK-947U is infinitely better. Any Thermalright based on their design would be roughly the same generation hardware. (Motherboard and CPU that is, not V56K) :)

Overall it looks great though, one of the nicest cases in my opinion. The old, old Alienware cases were like that.

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6k Style
Post by rottentreats on 18.05.09 at 00:51:33
Thanks for the comments guys.  I do respect your opinions, but I am going to have to disagree.  When it all boils down, I am not overclocking this machine, and this HSF works flawlessly for what it does.  Keeping it at ~2,000 RPMs or less keeps the CPU at a more than adequate temperature and I barely hear it. (min/max speed is 1,300/4,800)  It looks nice (orange is very simlar with that of the 3dfx logo), it also came with a expansion slot plate with the knob for fan speed adjustment.  Long story short, 5 degree's isnt going to make a difference in performance. :)

/edit:

I mounted the spare expansion slot plate that from where the fan control went  to the motherboard as a support the the heavy V6K.  Now even when the case is upright the card does not sag. :)  Also, black round floppy and IDE cables are on their way, the green ones are just temporary. :)

Nevertheless a killer retro 3Dfx machine  :o !!

I'm still waiting for my Aureal Vortex SQ2500 sound card I got on ebay last week to complete my retro V5 machine:

Msi KT3 Ultra-ARU
AthlonXP 2600 FSB333
2x 256DDR 333 PC2700
V5 64MB AGP
Aureal Vortex A3D SQ2500 sound
400GB Seagate IDE drive
Volcano 6 cooler

Hercules Prophetview 720 15inch LCD

All built in a Raidmax Smilodon case. I still have some Chieftec/Antec cases though. Could be that I switch to one of those just for the authenticity of the whole...

I still use a Thermaltake cooler in my current Athlon 64 X2 gaming rig...

...nowt wrong with them - unless you're intending to overclock...then you'd need something beefier...

Thanks AzzKickr! By the sound of it you have an awesome rig brewing... cant wait to hear/see that thing is in action! :)  You have some mean combos tied together.  8-)

Update: The black floppy/ide cables are in, next fan shrouds/brackets, which are being to be a b!tch to find... help finding some would be ok with me ;) (and some more cable management)

Dont get me wrong - I didnt say that Thermaltake coolers suck in general - I just said that TT Vulcano 11 sucks :) TT Vulcano 7 is, for example, a much better choice. Or big typhoon. Or even Silent tower (which i still use) or sonic tower.  8-)

Looks like that will deliver some good airflow. I would suggest adding a side fan to deliver fresh air to the Hint chip and surrounding components.

What do you mean with fan shroud/bracket? :)

Yeah, it came with a fan on the window, but I took it off because it was a pain in the butt to plug/unplug when I take the side off, oh well... still thinking of a solution to that.

By should/bracket I mean the things that hold the fans.  They are a mix of bluish/green or purple, I want them black.  I am most likely just going to have to whip out some spray paint, as I cannot find them for purchase anywhere. :)

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6k Style

Yea I would spray em. Yea they can be annoying. I've got a Thermaltake Tsunami, and it's exactly the same story. It doesn't get opened very often mind. It's on a molex to 3pin fan connector, so taking it off the molex adaptor isn't too much of a hassle but still annoying.

Hi

Nice shiny cool set of you rottentreats and gongratulation for me also for your card....  8-)

Could you tell, what CPU temperature you have in 3200 idle and stress ?

In my machine here,(XP 3200+, RAID 0) idle is 50 in Celsius with Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu LED Blue.

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2660/inside2w.jpg

In your case there is a plenty of room, so I suggest that you try to set those cables in better way, because it truly makes a lot of difference.

By the way, looking at your picture it seems that V56K is a little bit bend... (perhaps my old eyes makes a trick..)

Anyway... Awesome set and it would be nice to hear how Thermaltake
handle the CPU temperature in your system...

Take into consideration that these temperatures are in an non-air conditioned enviroment.

Idle = 51°C [browsing the web for 15 minutes]
Load = 54°C [looping UT99 Intro @ 4xAA for 30 minutes]

To get these temperatures I did the [task] and then rebooted quickly (via reset button in ~3 seconds) to see the results in the Magic Health area.  With that being said we can all assume that the temperature is probably 1-3°C higher when the task was actually in progress.

No PSU for the AAlchemy setup yet... might be waiting for the Homemade PSU progject to make more progress.  If anything it will be something great just to have with my V6K :)

To clear up any thoughts that she might be a bit bent, this is completely untrue.  Straight as an arrow. :)

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6K/AA5 Style
Post by Kokohemmo on 24.05.09 at 03:06:19
Hi

Thanks for that test. It seems, that XP 3200+ "normal" temp is in 50-56 in celsius.

Yes, in your picture, she is straight as a tree... Fault was in my eyes, as I was thought before... ::)

In my case, because it is Antec Sonata, I have only one 120mm fan (Revoltec blue 20db)
in back, and it handles all the case air flow. Sure the PSU fan also remove some hot air also.

In my set, I try to get cpu and system heat down as mininium numbers of fans as possible,
so the noise issue is also in my target.

(I have the Noise Absorber kit, and usually using noise pads increased temperature a little bit, BUT it is... silent  8-))

Now when I had your test results of your XP 3200+  temperature,
I know my system have no problems in heat issue... ;)

Kokohemmo

No problemo Kokohemmo, glad to hear my 3200+ is also running "normal". (I have two of these CPU's, and they both run that same temperature)

You were correct to think my V6K was a bit bent, looking at one of the other pictures I took it appears to be, might have been the camera or the way the card was placed... oh well. :)

I can understand how you want a silent machine, sure is nice not to hear a tornado coming from the rig.  I would too but I usually have my music or the game cranked up high. :)  Maybe someday I will try a Noise Absorber kit also, sounds like it might be nice. (pun intended)

Well, first time i saw the pictures i think also that the V6K is a bit bent, but looking at at the chieftech case too ( picture bottom ), you see that this is also bent.
So, that it must have been the camera position...

Btw. nice setup's my frindes !!!

Good to hear all is ok with your 8464DB! :)

Now I have a question regarding my AA5 setup.  Will this PSU work? It appears to have all the right cables/connectors, but the specs are a bit different...

(the +2.9V supplies 75w, so thats good.)

Ok, good news is all the connectors needed are there and fit like a dream.

Is there any secret to using this powersupply? Or is it just like any other but with a few different connectors?  I tried briefly to power up a system with it but nothing happened.  I even jumped pins 4&6 on the psu and still no go.  I might have bought a dead psu... ideas?

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6K/AA5 Style
Post by Tim on 09.06.09 at 02:29:07
I don't know much about AAlchemy setups. But make sure your powersupply works first by jumpstarting it. Bridge the Green and a Black to boot the PSU, but have a couple of fans plugged in so there is some load, some PSUs don't start up without any load.

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6K/AA5 Style
Post by sigtau on 09.06.09 at 02:41:36
Well, if it's the same type of power supply used in the AAlchemy workstations, it should work.  I can't tell who the manufacturer is since it appears as though the label has been blurred out for some weird reason ::), but it appears to match mine.  My AAlchemy workstation is in storage right now, but I seem to recall that it has a special switch that has to be used to power it up.  Does the power supply have any other non-standard connectors other than the AA5 plugs?

Sweet, sounds like you are set.  The power supply acts much like that found in older, pre-ATX form factor PCs (commonly known as "AT" or "Baby AT").   I seem to recall that when you shut down Windows, the power supply keeps running unless you flip off the switch.  I hope to have my out of storage this weekend...after the I finish the major remodel on my house.

That's correct.. When I do a Win2000 shutdown, it tells me that it's safe to power off. Then I flip the power switch to the OFF position. I hope the Power Supply is good  :-?

Well, I hooked up the switch and hooked it all up and the PSU powers on! :)  I was unable to get video however... Do I need a main vga card? (agp)

I then tested a normal PSU and AGP card with the mobo and was still unable to get video... so something else might have been wrong. (nothing a little troubleshooting cant fix)

Lastley, the PSU will not power up if the AA5 cards are not hooked up, I am guessing this is normal...

Are there any other tricks that I need to do to make these cards boot properly?

Oh, one more thing.  I looked at the box that the PSU came in and through a sticker I saw a symbol.. and it was this:

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6K/AA5 Style
Post by sigtau on 11.06.09 at 14:27:10
The AA5 only outputs 3D, so you will need a 2D card in the system as well.  I use a geforce 4 series card (w/DVI) in mine.  I also use a monitor that has both D-sub and DVI inputs so I can just switch the input mode on the monitor.

It sounds like you have an issue with your test mobo/CPU.  Dumb question, did you also short the "power on" header pins on the mobo after flipping the PSU switch?  If so, then it sounds like you need to work out the kinks with your test system first before troubleshooting the AA5 and power supply.

I got mine working on a Pentium 4 setup, but I had to use a molex to CPU 4 pin adapter to get things working right.  Make sure you don't need something similar for whatever mobo/CPU combo your working with.

The PSU came in a box....interesting.  Where did you find it and was it actually brand new?

Title: Re:  A Dream Come True- V6K/AA5 Style
Post by rottentreats on 11.06.09 at 17:37:11
Ah, I had a long day when I tried booting up the system and must not have been thinking properly... of course it needs a 2D card  :D

As per your advise I will definately get the test system up and running prior to slapping in the AA5.  ( I did flip the switch and bridge the pins to power it up)

I have an old Tyan Dual P3 933mhz Slot1 system laying around that I will try next.

I actually saw this PSU while browsing google for computer salvage PSU's. (if quick_elist can sell all the vcards, someone has to has the PSU's)  It came in two boxes.. a bigger shipping one and then what appears to be the that is originally came in. To my knowledge TK Power made the AA5 PSU's and had a very similar logo to which is on the box.

I should probably get back to work.. but I will keep you all updated with what happens..  8-)

Tonights little project requires a big thanks to RazrX, I could not have done it without his tips and advice.  Althought I do have have the gahones to use either this power adapter or Voodoo Volts, it's just nice to have...

[smiley=beer.gif] No problemo.  You were already headed in the right direction.  I just gave a couple tweaks.  [smiley=beer.gif]

The cable looks perfect.  Well done!    [smiley=cool.gif]

Well... the PSU boots the system and everything appears to be running fine, it detects the post sensor board (v3), and two Quantum3d AA5 PCI in the device manager.  However, only the top AA5 board has a green light on (the others flash red/orange when I turn the system on), I am not sure if the bottom one is working or not... someone is going to have to tell me what I might be doing wrong.  Anyways, I plug the vga cable into the top AA5 board and it works just fine... I do not appear to be getting video through the dvi/post sensor board.

Any tips for getting this running right would be greatly appreciated.  A step by step check or howto would be amazing. Thanks in advance! :)

Green on the top AA5 is normal. ( I never paid attention to the other one flashing red/orange on power up ) I'll need to check that..

You won't get video on the SPP card without drivers and the demos that support it.

It looks like everything is functioning correctly but I'm confused.. I thought you picked up a 8464 but the video shows a 8432.. Do you have memory chip on both sides of both AA5 cards?

Ah ok, late last night I read through the AA5 Manual and see that the single green light is "3D Output LED".  I also learned some other nifty things: [url]http://www.quantum3d.com/support/aalchemy/AATXUsersManual.pdf[/url]

Looking into what you said it appears I was wrong when I identified my AA5 card(s).  My cards only have memory on one side of each board.  Thank you for clairifying that, it is indeed a 8432DB.  That just means that I will have to try and pick up a 8464DB next time one comes around.

A few pics from the other night I forgot I took...

For those who are still wondering, I stumbled upon the powresupply at a pc recycling website. (took me atleast several hours of digging)

Ok, I search all of the V6k forum and cannot find what to do about the drivers. I know that the standard AA5 drivers do not come with glide2, and needs some modified opengl32 dlls. My question is, where do I get all of these files needed. If someone could compile the modified files for Win2k SP4 it would be greatly appreicated. Maybe rar them up and upload them somewhere.

As per Sniper in a post on the V6k forum I found this, but I can't really do much with it..

"Copied to all games the renamed opengl32.dll, glide2x and glide3xb.dll to several folders in the games, renamed the glide3xb.dll to glide3x.dll in a secound turn, but have no success with all the games."

This page of the pictures thread covers most of the info you are looking for.  Keep in mind that according to Gary, a dual card setup won't run most games if you end up using the wickedGL mini driver.  I have two single boards, but I haven't found the sli connector to hook them both up to do any tinkering.

Welp, I am going to be having a custom acrylic case built for my V6K, so far I just had the plaque made.  Now it's just a matter of finding an acrylic shop to do some custom work to fit my V6k and VV nicely.  Then I can finally put it out on display. :)  I will update this thread again when I get it finished... might be awhile

Well, they are gone, and I will never forget them.  I guess I would rather use something that means more to me, than use their slogan.  I am not trying to sell anything, I am merely creating a place for my V6K to be displayed and appreciated.

When/if Chevrolet ever goes under, do you think they are going to use "Like a Rock"?  I don't think so.   :P

Hahaha!  Chevy could use the slogan, "Like a Rock," because they sunk like a rock in the auto market.  The former #1 automaker in the world goes into bankruptcy protection & to taking government bailouts to be able to survive.   ::)

Also, I will see what I can do to help you on your V5 6000 display case.  I'll send you a message soon.

My acrylic case arrived today and I got everything mounted up and screwed together.  :)  I still have some work to do, and some things to add, but its a good start.  For the rear I will be placing another black acrylic piece to cover up the tape from the other one.  Any suggestions or comments are welcome as always.  8-)

+1 :)

Because that was the way the card should work - no wires, but a nice, big adapter.

Thank for the input folks.  I wasn't unsure what to do about the wires as they have been with the card for so long, that they are part of it's history.  Because of that fact the wires will remain in the case, just not attached to the card. (purley for display purposes)

Here is a shot from me sitting at my desk. (badass robot fan I know, and yes the rubik's cube is a piece of cake)

http://www.abload.de/img/dscf2552th2odx.jpg

@Tim - In total it would be 7 screws to get the card out. (4 on the base (2 on each side), 3 holding the card in place, which is done with 3 mobo standoffs.

http://www.abload.de/img/dscf2546thyq73.jpg

http://www.abload.de/img/dscf2562thtq85.jpg

For those who are curious about the dimensions or anything like that, here is the quick sketch I sent to the custom acrylic company.  (who did an excellent job creating what I envisioned)  This was a great $200 investment.

http://www.abload.de/img/ccth6rrp.jpg

Lastly, for that open area to the left of the plaque, I think I will be getting a decal made to read something like this:  8-)

Post by Tim on 14.02.10 at 16:02:39
Wow $200 hehe, not too bad for a custom design I guess.

Hmm, I suppose because you have now got two, you can keep one on display and one to play with ey? So it doesn't really matter how easy it is to take apart.

Ps. Instead of red washers, you could use some slightly translucent ones if you wish to do so.

Title: Re: A Dream Come True- V6K/AA5 Style
Post by rottentreats on 14.02.10 at 16:19:22
Yeah, kinda spendy but well worth it.  This company said their glue joints would be approx 95% bubble free, and all edges would be flame polished.  Very high quality build and with 1/2 acrylic on the "t-base".  Nothing but the best for my V6K. :)  Minnesota built, about 45 minutes away from my house.

This one will definately mostly be for display, the one that will arrive tomorrow will be my play horse.  Prior to putting this V6K away I played with it for a few hours, knowing that I might not fire it up again for a few years.

The clear washers are a great idea.  Next time I have her out I will definately upgrade those to some clear nylon washers. (I might even have a few left over from when I fixed my friends xbox360 that had the infamous RROD)

Edmund also provided a support bracket/handle that has been with the card nearly it's entire life.  That teamed up with a backplate from a V5 5500 AGP, this thing is now ready to be enjoyed even more. :)

Ok, so I have made a few modifications that have been on my to do list for quite some time.  I have added the vinyl stickers that read "it's so powerful, it's kind of ridiculous" (which consists of an orange and black stickers) Also added was the black acrylic piece on the back to hide the tape from the plaque on the front. (I also put a 3dfx logo on it)

And for extra anti-moisture protection, two Hydrosorbent Silica Gel Dehumidifiers that have 40 grams of silica beads.  They have built-in indicators that turn from blue to pink to signal the need for reactivation. (which can be done in any oven)

I initially contacted Maximum PC to get a copy of a magazine, and whilst doing so I started chatting with the guy about why the V6K was so important to me.  I then sent a few pics and gave some history and they were so impressed with my cards and acrylic case that they sent me a printed 11x17 article from their June 2002 issue.  Titled "The Last Days of 3dfx" it is a blast to read and look at.  So then I went out and bought some frames and below is the outcome.

Looks like my v6k's evil twin :) I would not do an internal hook-up it looks much nicer without. I'd try to find a compatible 4 pin plug to do an external to internal molex cable that can be easily detached and would look better overall.
Good luck with it hope it works.

I think both luck and hard work definitely played a part in me aquiring this card.  In all reality I would not have gotten this card if Captain Harris had not sent me the link and information leading to the card, without him this card may be in a dumpster.  Then again it wasn't too hard as the person who owned it was planning on just throwing it out, he thought he couldnt even get the cost of shipping for it.  Let's just say I proved him wrong in half a heart beat, and then got the card 2 days later.  :D

OMG OMG OMG! HAHAH  :o  ;D  :D  8-)

I took the day off and drove 1 hour north to have the HiNT chip replaced by Altron Inc. , and now I have a functional 2600A2. (THANK YOU Tim for hooking me up with a spare HiNT HB1-SE66 chip from the eBay auction on 2/14/10)

Now to do some testing.  The card functions in 2d/3d, so now the question is whether or not AA modes will work, and stability is somethign to check out.  I will be reporting back after more testing is done.

http://www.abload.de/thumb/179jk.jpg http://www.abload.de/thumb/2izxs.jpg http://www.abload.de/thumb/3wayb.jpg

07/11/2010 - Bought card as non-functional from Keatah on 3dfxzone.it
09/27/2010 - Had IPC certified college instructor John Gammell at Dakota County Technical College remove CR4, replacing missing C79, and add through-hold power terminals.  Card was still non-functional.
04/08/2011 - Had Altron Inc. replace the HiNT HB1-SE66 chip on the card.  Card is now functional!

I am amazed that the card works. Jaw status = dropped.

/EDIT: I can confirm that the card is very stable. I have had it looping a Q3A demo and it's still running like a dream. I also tested 2x/4x/8x AA for about 5 minutes each, and it was stable!

(little did I know that when I took the picture above the game was running in 4x AA) Hehe

Didn't you inquire at Altron Inc. if reballing the original HiNT bridge chip was enough?

Nah, since I had the replacement chip it seemed like a better option.  I still have the old chip though, and can reball/reuse if needed. If the chip was fried I'm not sure reballing would help...

;)

I'm very very happy for you, and equally happy that I sold one to you. Well done. :)

I'm glad the last resort did the trick. I can't believe you've got a functional 2600! YESSSS!! Seriously impressed here!!!

That reminds me that I still have got two Hint chips here.

@rottentreats congrats man on getting the card repaired. I'm glad to see a sibling v6k up and running as it should.

I've added a heastink to mine to avoid a burnt Hint bridge but I also have some spares for my v6k 2600RevA2 just in case.

Black and White BIOS Screen?

To be honest I havent payed full attention to the BIOS screen since I got my 2600A2 card functioning.  From what I noticed today, the BIOS screen is intermittently either color like it should be, or black and white (monochrome). (I would say its B/W 90% of the time)  The card works with color everywhere else, such as the Windows loading screen and Windows itself.  My other V6K's obivously don't do this, so I am curious if anyone has heard of this behavior before with any other cards?  I am not worried about it as the card still outperforms my 3700A's and runs like a dream.  :P

Ideas?

Color: note the Award Bios ribbon color

B/W:

WOw thats asick machine!!!!!  :D ;D  Where the hell do u guys get all this 'impossible' (eBay but they rarely ever show up) to find hardware!!!!!! I've seena broke V5 6K go for $800. it stated at 99 cents  :o That cards got some SICK fans on it.

Oh BTW where'd u get the case made it looks sick i might need one for my V2 Rig xD

P.S About the B&W problem, it may be the cable, as i would sometimes get this with my GF2MX (Everything would be black and white, even windows)

My V5-6K 2600A2 behaves exactly the same, so it seems to be related to that revision of the card.

Thank you for the reply! I figured it might be a common trait with the 2600A2's as I can't think of any hardware/firmware defect that would cause such an occurance.  (maybe also other early revisions?)  It makes me feel better knowing that other 2600A2's (if not all) also behave like this.  A fun little quirk of this rare revision. :)

On a side note I just recieved my 5x spare HiNT HB1-SE66 chips. :) If I am going to have 3x (or more) V6k's for the rest of my life I better be prepared for anything.  (I also have 4x spare Epox 8K3A+ boards as that is the only board I will ever use, along with a few spare AXDA3200DKV4D cpus, the fastest cpu for that board)

You guys made me curious as I did not remember my 2600A2 showing a black & white image at boot-up. I have tried it now on a Tyan MPX and a Gigabyte GA-60XT and in both cases I have color at boot-up and in the BIOS screen. So might be something different with my card physically with the reworks it has as the vga BIOS version is the same 1.11

It is not like my card boots every time in black/white, lets say in 9 of 10 cases it boots up with full colors.

Well still I have full colors in more than 30 boot-ups with my card even after stessing the card in some glide games. None the less I'm happy with it as it is :)

I did it again  :D  :o 8-)

A virgin V6K (unmodified,no reworks, completely and fully stable/functional 3700A)  The card even comes with extra capacitors C15/C17. (very uncommon)  It is a pretty interesting card to use, mainly because it does not have the internal power hookups, so I use the Voodoo Volts!  It also has 1.18 bios which is unlike many V6K's. (still running @ 166mhz, but with more aggressive memory timings)

Things just seem to work out sometimes.. :) The card above just happened to come with a late voodoo volts backplate, so naturally I took that off and put it on my 2600A2.

Note: the V6K that sparked this topic was sold however, mainly because I already had a 3700A w/ the PCI rework, internal power and didn't feel the need to have two of the same exact thing)  So I sold that and put the money towards this beauty.  8-)

The V6K arrived today from Edmund's eBay auction.    ;D ;D ;D
http://www.abload.de/thumb/13304.jpg http://www.abload.de/thumb/240tj.jpg

First thing I did was stick it in my V6K rig and fire it up... half a decade later and SHE'S ALIVE!!!  Tested and stable at 2x/4x/8x AA levels.  [still looping UT99 intro @ 4x AA going on for about 30 minutes]
http://www.abload.de/thumb/actionc2y3.jpg

Edmund also provided a support bracket/handle that has been with the card nearly it's entire life.  That teamed up with a backplate from a V5 5500 AGP, this thing is now ready to be enjoyed even more. :)

Bonus shot.  Perfectly alligned aavid fans. :)

This card is now for sale, it is a 3700A card with the internal power hookup and PCI rework.  Perfect card in perfect working order in all anti-aliasing levels.  If you are intereseted drop me a line at  v6ksale@gmail.com.  Make me an offer. (I am expecting $3,000+ as that is the going rate these days)

Not yet... I sold a different card a few months ago. (you must be thinking of that one)

This is the card for sale. (I have since added my own toe-tag and cable management "zip wrap")

The card has a buyer lined up and is now considered sold.  Thank you to all interested parties. :)

PS: Your hunch was probably on the right track, but this is not the case.

I am very happy to see that the goddess arrived and that you are happy with it.  In all honesty that is the most perfect 3700A I have ever seen. Fans are perfectly aligned, all of the capacitors/coils are right side up.  Cleanest card I have ever owned by far, and it has hardly been used.

Congratulations on your dream becoming reality. Enjoy! :)
