Title: 3dfx 3500 tv fm pci Post by Pete Riley on 09.03.06 at 20:52:30
Heres the system.
Packard Bell Club 98. 650mhz. GA-6wmm7 mobo. Built in graphics intel. Heres my problem: We were given this system last week but as it was full of rubbish I decided to format and install win98. I then decided to look inside and noticed it has the above mentioned card in a pci slot. Try as I may I cant get the card working. I have tried about 6 different drivers. Last on I tried was voodoo3 10700 from the site recomended on here. I do everything as it says, unzip the package into windows\temp. Double click on setup in drivers. Turn off the pc and install the card. Turn back on and the good old new hardware detected thingy pops up but I cannot get it to recognise the card. I point it to the two places where the driver shows (3dfx16v.drv) which are windows\temp and windows\system but it still says these folders dont contain info about the card. Iv even pointed it to the inf directory where there is a 3dfx.inf file but still no joy. :-[ Can anyone help. Thanks. |

The Card you're mentioning is probably no Voodoo3 at all, but a VoodooTV FM, thus no Voodoo3 or Voodoo3-3500/TV Driver can work ;)
The VoodooTV FM is a TV Receiver Card with an integrated Radio tuner. Comparison Images : Voodoo3 2000 PCI : Voodoo3 3000 PCI : VoodooTV FM : Note : A Voodoo3 3500/TV PCI doesn't exist, only AGP versions were built |

Besides which voodoo card you have on, your system has a built in vga. Thus unless you indicate from bios which card is the master (vga boot from integrated/pci/agp), the built in intel one is the one that apears in device manager as "standar pci vga adapter" thing and so, you are trying to force voodoo drivers on a forein vga chip.
